Two towering figures of Indian science bid farewell. Dr. M R Srinivasan (1929–2025), former Chairman of India's Atomic Energy Commission, passed away at 95. A key architect of India's nuclear power programme, his contributions laid the foundation of self-reliant atomic energy development. Dr. Jayant Narlikar (1938–2025), Padma Vibhushan awardee and renowned astrophysicist, passed away at 87. Known for his groundbreaking work in cosmology, he was a passionate science communicator and played a pivotal role in building premier research institutions like IUCAA.
