This one was a definite labor of love, but I've thoroughly enjoyed drawing it. Trev always used to love watching me play flight simulators back in the day, so when he was trying to come up with a commission idea, he decided to have Alioth teaching Trev how to fly. It's been a long time since I've put Alioth in the pilot's seat, so this was a really fun one to work on.

| 3 | I have a whole bunch of ref sheets on the agenda at the moment, but I wanted to start off 2024 by updating my own, since I haven't done so in several years and have made a few slight changes to the look of the character. As I'm getting close to 40 (gonna be 37 later this month), I'm not going to reject the fact that I'm beginning to show signs of aging. The fandom needs its older folks. Aging is a natural part of life, and there can be beauty in it, and I've decided that Alioth is going to age with me - hopefully (for myself and my fursona) it will happen gracefully and with dignity. | 9 | SubscribeStar subscribers, please check your username! I'm just making this post because some of you probably aren't aware of this happening. When you sign up for SubscribeStar, don't assume that you have an informative username just because it made you put in your name when you signed up! I have several subscribers who have cryptic usernames like the ones shown in the example picture I have posted, and to put it bluntly, I can't fulfill your rewards if I don't know who you are! Some of y'all have come back and told me "hey, it's me" or set a profile picture that gives me more of a clue, but that's still going to be very challenging for me to organize when it comes time to actually figure out who gets what. I've been collecting feedback on possibly creating a new subscriber reward tier in between Iron and Silver, and I believe that this is a good time to introduce this new tier, while I'm still finding my footing here and getting things set up. So if you look at the reward tiers on my page, you will now see that there is a new $18 BRONZE tier available! This tier includes one BASIC reward AND one PREMIUM reward. This essentially opens up both reward types at a slightly lower price. Iron tier ($10) subscribers choose two basic rewards OR one premium reward. Now, in the Bronze tier, you don't have to choose between one or the other: you can get one of each!

| 13 | Hi all! I'm just wanting to give a quick update on things since it's been a few days. First, there are still a few folks who submitted commission forms that I haven't heard back from, so I need to stress: if you don't have an invoice from me (and we haven't talked and I haven't said "I'll send an invoice soon"), I need to talk with you about your commission so that we can get everything finalized. That's the big thing.
As for where things currently stand: I've finished a couple of commissions (that were paid for as rush delivery), but I am mostly still playing "catch up." My plan today is to get as many of the September Patreon rewards finished as I can. I doubt I will finish them all, but I'll do as many as possible. I've already completed the Premium rewards - they were done before Patreon blew up. I'm mainly wanting to let everyone know that the direct link to those rewards has now changed. (The Rebrandly link no longer works; I'm doing my best to scrub all mentions of Patreon from my site and infrastructure because fuck 'em.) Second, the community response to what happened on Patreon has been nothing short of miraculous - I am moved and humbled by it, and once again, this community has come through in a big way. I've gotten a LOT of commission forms ever since this all blew up on Tuesday, and for the time being, I need to close my commissions so that I can sort through all of it and get things moving, especially now that SubscribeStar is up and running. That leaves me with a lot of work to do, so I don't want to put more on myself than I can handle.
IF YOU SUBMITTED A COMMISSION FORM OR CATALOG ORDER and haven't received an invoice from me for it, I still need to talk with you about it! I know I said I am closing for commissions, but if you already submitted a form, then you are on my to-do list, even if I haven't approached you or updated my site to reflect it. The site is updated manually, but when you submit a form, it's automatically added to my to-do list. If you put in a form, you're there. Please reach out to me when you have time!
I'm taking a bit of a break today from actually working on art because I've been crunched so much in the last week or so, but I will still take consultations and so forth - if you submitted a commission form, please reach out to me so we can get everything confirmed and get the invoices taken care of.

| 15 | Update: Someone just brought to my attention that the comments on my old Patreon posts are still visible to people who have a not-updated Patreon app on iOS. That still doesn't solve the underlying problem (the fact that I have no way to verify which people were subscribed to which tiers), but if anyone has a way to send me the comments on my posts from October, I would greatly appreciate it. That doesn't fix this, and it may not make the end solution any more viable, but ANY missing puzzle pieces I can fill in right now are better than none! | 339 |
| 16 | PATREON SUPPORTERS: I'm really sorry guys, I'm still scratching my head over this one. If you claimed rewards for September, they'll get done as soon as I can manage, though they will be several days late. Unfortunately, when my page was wiped, I have no way of recovering all the comments that were made on October's posts to claim the rewards. I already had September's written down, so they'll get done (being so close to the end of the month, they were already almost done, in fact), but beyond that, I lost pretty much all the information I had. All the comments claiming rewards are gone, and while I would say "just let me know here," I don't have access to my records, which means I have no way of determining who is actually eligible for what. I can contact Patreon support to get a list of my subscribers' emails, but no information about their pledge tiers, which months they were pledged, etc. Even if I could get that information, it would take me days (if not weeks) to actually sort through it and get it organized into any semblance of something useful. (Whereas in Patreon, I could simply hover over the icon on a comment and see which tier the commenter was pledged to.) I like to think that everyone would be honest and only claim what they're actually owed, but the unfortunate truth is that I have had people take advantage of me in that way before, and in the current case, I have no way to protect myself against it. Rewards for October and November may unfortunately just be a loss, and that really pains me to say; if I can think of a better solution, I will definitely announce it. And of course, I am open to any suggestions anyone has - just bear in mind all the information I've just given. It's chaos - believe me, no one hates it more than I do. I've always prided myself on being dependable, so the fact that I have no good way to make this whole to people who've supported me throughout the ordeal is a fact that hurts me more than you could possibly realize.
In the meantime, the best thing I can do is pick things up and keep on going as best I can. I appreciate you all for everything - the commissions, the donations, the words of encouragement. It all means a lot. | 314 |
| 17 | Good morning everyone! I just wanted to give a general update on how things have gone over the last couple of days since the Patreon thing blew up. Here's where things currently stand:
SUBSCRIBESTAR: I got an email with the subject line "Final steps before your profile is approved." They needed some information about my social media presence (so they could make sure I really am who I say I am), and they needed my tax information. I have provided both of those things for them, so now the ball is back in their court, and I just have to wait until they approve it; I have no idea how long that could take - I've seen some artists saying it's happened quickly, while others have said they had to wait for weeks or even months. Whatever the case, it is out of my hands at the moment.
COMMISSIONS: I've reached out to most of the people who sent me commission forms on Tuesday, but there are a few I missed and a few who have sent in forms SINCE then that I have not contacted yet, and there are also several I reached out to who weren't able to talk yet and/or haven't gotten back to me. If you commissioned me and don't have an invoice from me yet, I still need to talk with you. If your commission says "Consultation" as its current status, it means I still need to talk with you about it (probably not anything bad; it just means I need to confirm all the details, give you some information, and get the invoice taken care of). Yesterday evening I got started on some of this commission work, and I will likely be continuing on that throughout the day today.
CATALOG ORDERS: I have added all pending catalog orders to the catalog order status page. If you see your order there, please check with me so we can confirm everything and get the invoice taken care of. | 19 | Hi folks - sorry, I know this is my third post of the day, but I've just gotten home from work and wanted to provide something of an update on the current state of things. I'm just sitting here trying to... pick up the pieces, so to speak. So first and foremost: if you're a Patreon supporter and are waiting for rewards that I already owe you, obviously they will be delayed, possibly indefinitely. I'm going to salvage what I can from things that I had written down, but when Patreon removed my creator page, they also banned my account. I can't even log in. I have no access to my supporters' emails or previous posts or comments or anything. I can't even refund anyone; my account is completely gone, so I have no access to the refund options. Please watch your bank/card statements for charges from Patreon at the first of the month - I wouldn't put it past them to "forget" to not charge people and just keep the money at this point. If you were a subscriber in October or this month, I'm going to try and put out October's rewards and come up with something for November as soon as I can, but it's obviously going to be substantially delayed while I figure out how to deal with this - I'm begging for your patience while I sort through everything and figure out my next move.
I'm still waiting on my SubscribeStar to be approved; given the number of new registrations happening on SubscribeStar, I imagine it could take a while. That's okay. As I said, my current plan is to use Substar basically the same way I used Patreon: to provide a way for people to subscribe to me to get custom art (in the form of YCHs, Telegram stickers, and profile pictures) without them having to think of new ideas or fill out a commission form every time they want something from me. I've actually already set up the tiers - funnily enough, I had just enough time to copy and paste the tier descriptions from Patreon before it got hit.
I've gotten a few commission forms, but I still have plenty of room for more. Head to my website and fill out a form if you would like to get art from me. I can't promise it will be done in time for Christmas, but I will get through it as quickly as I can. If you can't afford to commission me but can afford a small donation, that is also welcome - just go to my PayPal.me link. Anything is welcome - and please do not spread yourself too thin. Yes, I am financially hurting from this; there's no way for me to sugar-coat that. That's $1000 a month (over half my income) gone in the blink of an eye; I was not prepared for it. But I am not the only artist who's been affected by this and I'm able to weather it better than some others are, for the time being.
If you've sent in a form already, I will get back to you, I promise. I've been seeing your forms come in; I promise I'm not ignoring anyone. It may not be today since I am very low on bandwidth (for reasons I hope you can understand), but it will be as soon as I can. I appreciate everyone who has supported me and other artists throughout the years, and I hope you will continue to do so, wherever we end up migrating. Please, I beg you, don't abandon us. We're all angry, confused, and scared right now. Keep us in your thoughts, and check in on all your artist friends right now. | 258 |
