A massive plume-like feature is showing up over the Pacific as witnesses report an unusual haze stretching across the sky.
Satellite imagery is raising even more questions, with the feature appearing offshore near the Juan de Fuca system β the same region where the highly active Axial Seamount sits deep beneath the ocean.

π¨INCREDIBLE: On September 11, 2001, about 140 infants and toddlers were inside the Pentagonβs Child Development Center when American Airlines Flight 77 hit the building.
Hanna Born was one of them. She was 3.
She remembers the dance ribbons. Then she remembers a hallway. Nothing in between.
Her baby sister Heather was there too β 4 months old.
Every child was evacuated. Not one was harmed.
Their mother, then a lieutenant colonel (later Brigadier General Dana Born), was at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and had no idea what was happening until it was over. Their father raced through gridlocked traffic to find them.
A few days later he took Hanna back β not to scare her, but so she could see recovery workers still digging, still showing up.
That daycare closed in 2004. The memory did not.
Hanna graduated from the Air Force Academy. Today she is a Captain and TH-1H Huey instructor pilot at Fort Rucker, training the next generation of Army helicopter pilots.
On September 11, 2025 she started running.
2,977 miles. One for every person murdered that day.
She averages just over 8 miles a day. With every mile she says a name out loud.
She once heard that people die twice: once when they stop breathing, and again the last time someone says their name.
Her goal is simple. Make sure that second death never happens.
She finishes the last mile on September 11, 2026 β exactly 25 years after she was carried out of a hallway she barely remembers.
2,977 miles.
2,977 names.
One woman who was too young to understand what happened to her, now old enough to make sure no one else forgets.

The day after the towers fell, a priest named Lyndon Harris walked down Broadway toward St. Paulβs Chapel. He had already decided it was gone. When he saw the spire, he wept.
He opened the door. Ash on the floor. The chandeliers still up. Not one window broken.
A sycamore in the northwest corner of the churchyard had caught debris, including a steel beam from the North Tower. The tree was damaged. The chapel was not.
Workers off the pile started using the porch to sit down and wash. On September 15 the Seamenβs Church Institute showed up with food and lit a grill on the sidewalk.
After that the doors stayed open. For nine months.
Cots in the pews. Eighty asleep at a time, helmets for pillows. Boots and belts marked the wood. Podiatrists set up in George Washingtonβs pew, the one he used after the inauguration in 1789. Massage tables in the aisle. Musicians played seven hundred times for whoever happened to be in the room.
Half a million meals were served before they closed the doors. Socks, boots, eye drops, cigarettes. Schoolchildrenβs letters on the walls. The iron fence outside vanished under photographs, unit patches, teddy bears, and names.
They shut the relief operation down in early June 2002. They still ring the Bell of Hope every September 11.
St. Paulβs went up in 1766. It lived through the fire that burned Trinity in 1776. Oldest public building still in use in the city.

I posted yesterday about 2 churches I visited when I went to ground zero. The first church was where the FDNY firefighters carried Father Judge after he was killed, and they layed his body on the alter.
This is the other church I visited. The firefighters used this church for rehab, to clean up, eat, get medical attention, and sleep.
