#Tips Google apps on LineageOS Since LineageOS debuted, it has always been offering vanilla builds, which doesn’t include Google services, giving users the pure clean Android experience. If you would like to use Google services on the ROM, it is possible to do by flashing Google app packages. There are several Google app packages offered by the communities, but according to the official LineageOS wiki, the team recommends MindTheGapps for LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1) and later version. For LineageOS 13.0 & LineageOS 14.1, the team recommends users to get OpenGapps, since MindTheGapps doesn't have packages for these older versions. Fun fact, these two packages are actually provided by developers from LineageOS, hence they are guaranteed to work well with LineageOS and cause minor to no issues. From the team perspective, they emphasise there won’t be support provided as their predecessor, CyanogenMod has been sued by Google for including it earlier, hence it is very unlikely for them to start including it again. That’s also the reason they won’t be making SafetyNet passing by default too. Anyway, installing Google services on LineageOS is very simple. Just boot up custom recovery (like Lineage Recovery, steps below applied to it), select “Apply Update”, then “Apply from ADB”, on your computer, type out adb sideload filename.zip. This step is usually done after you have just installed LineageOS on the recovery and before booting it for the first time, and depending on your device, you might have to reboot recovery in order to continue flashing add-ons like Google apps for example. It's better you give a read to your device installation instructions for better understanding. That’s the recommended way to install Google services onto your device with LineageOS, Of course, if you know the other ways to get Google apps, you can do so but there won’t be any sort of support provided.

#Changes Phone Services constantly using location will no longer show on LineageOS 19.1 With May 2022 Security Patch, Google has made some changes which cause Phone Services to check for location every few minutes. This means users will always see the privacy indicator showing location is being used, even when it’s already switched off. Good news regarding this issue, a fix is on its way to all builds released starting tomorrow, you will no longer see such an issue appearing on your phone running LineageOS 19.1. #Tips Check building status of LineageOS official builds Wondering where you can check the build status of LineageOS for your device? This post will solve your question in mind. LineageOS automatically releases a new build for each supported device every week, for Pixel devices we already have listed out the schedule earlier. Rarely the build server will have issues but accidents still happen anyway, so you might not see a build for your device at some point. https://buildkite.com/lineageos/android/ is where you can officially check the build status for LineageOS officially supported devices. You can know whether it is still in the queue, starting to build or already released.
bash android/build.sh
is the status of the release build. The following one is the signing process, which is done after the build has been compiled and uploaded. Also even though build status is shown completed, it takes another addition of one hour to release OTA and display links on the download site. Basically that's how LineageOS works, hopefully you get to learn something new by following this channel.

#LineageOS #Tips Customise QS grid size on LineageOS I am not sure why LineageOS is not including a customisable grid size for the quick settings panel, but if you wanted a larger grid size, here's one module (QS Grid Generator V3) that would solve your trouble. First you install the module, then later reboot device, and open terminal application of your choice (e.g. Termux). Next, type su to grant Superuser permission, then qsgrid, and follow the instructions to customise it. You could customise the quick row, rows and columns amount. Once finished setting the value, restart System UI and you will be able to see the grid size that you have set earlier. This module also works with Android 12L AOSP ROM too, so you could customise it to show more tiles instead of the default 8. Basically the module should work with any AOSP based ROM, and it is especially useful for those who want to stay on a particular ROM that doesn't have the feature.

#LineageOS #Tips SafetyNet on LineageOS Some people like LineageOS for its simplicity, some hate it for being too bland and not passing SafetyNet by default. Well, today let's talk about the SafetyNet situation on LineageOS. Before that, here's a guide on how to pass SafetyNet on LineageOS official builds (universal method), will require root though: 1. Enable Zygisk (Beta) and Enforce DenyList in Magisk settings 2. Install MagiskHide Props Config & Universal SafetyNet Fix module, reboot device 2. Get a terminal app and open it (e.g. Termux) 3. Type su, grant permission 4. Type props, 1 (to edit fingerprint), f (pick fingerprint) 5. Find your own device brand, device, then Android version you are using (recommend) 6. Reboot device, profit On official builds, maintainers aren't allowed to do any modification in order to pass SafetyNet. In fact, core team members of the ROM would also like to make everything easy for the end users, but if they do, one day there's a chance Google might sue the ROM project. CyanogenMod, which is later succeeded by LineageOS, has received a cease & desist letter from Google for including Google applications in the ROM. This is why LineageOS only offers vanilla builds, but this isn't a big deal as users can flash Google app packages to get Google services on their phone. Although it is unlikely, just in case Google started to issue letters, this ROM project will continue to exist. Anyway, some developers are offering unofficial builds which include a lot more improvements over official builds and it passed SafetyNet out of the box too.

Eid Mubarak! We at the Pixel chat federation wish you an enjoyable Eid, one full of blessings and bliss, bounty and beauty, for all of you and your families 😁 One unique aspect of our Eid is social cohesion. This morning, perhaps as you leave for Eid prayer, check on the people around you. They might be family, friends or neighbors. Are they happy? Are they happy and content? Do they have ma'amoul, do they have fresh new clothes? Are they in need? If that is the case, don't forget them ... you never know, you might make their Eid! The reward of seeing someone happy and excited, of hearing a mother's heartfelt, thankful prayer (dua'), and of knowing that you were the cause, you were chosen by God for this, is immense and second to none. May Allah empower us to help everyone around us, and allow us a taste of that rewarding pleasure, Amen!

▪️Magisk modules for crDroid 7.x • Live Captions: Flash this Magisk module in order to systemlessly install Android System Inteligence app, thus enabling Live Captions. This should also work on LineageOS 18.1 if for whatever reason your GApps package doesn't already contain this app. • Camera patches: This Magisk module enables the long exposure for Camera PX, 2K video recording for both front and back cameras (with OpenCamera or similar), it enables near 4K video resolution for the front camera (with OpenCamera or similar) and it gives Camera PX the proper SELinux permissions in order to process HDR+ images faster. Only use this module on crDroid 7.x. • VoLTE: This Magisk module makes the system always show the VoLTE, ViLTE and VoWiFi toggles regardless of your carrier, useful for people whose service provider supports this options but can't enable them for some reason. YOur carrier needs to support VoLTE for marlin/sailfish in the first place, this won't make VoLTE work magically on any carrier. This module can be used on any ROM.

Now when plugging a PD compliant charger the phone should always say that it's fast charging. • Removed the forced availability of VoLTE, ViLTE and VoWiFi for all carriers because it cluttered the UI for people that don't have VoLTE. It's now included in a Magisk module.
