Feeling the ocean Artist Julian Charriere created a series of photographs Where Waters Meet. He captured naked freedivers descending into the abyss of Mexico's water caves known as cenotes. As the freedivers' bodies penetrate the chemocline (a vague and eerie layer of bottom water full of sulfurous bacteria), they dissolve, both figuratively and metaphorically, and sink not only deeper into the bottom of the sea, but also into their psyches. This is an entrance into a state of unity with the outside world, which is often called the “sensation of the ocean.” @Eunoia
