PlayStation ditching physical games is "a bridge across the bad years" of high hardware costs, analyst says, but it means "casuals and youngsters will drift off to mobile, PC, and free-to-play even faster" - "Killing physical media boards up one of the cheapest doorways into PlayStation". https://www.gamesradar.com/games/playstation-ditching-physical-games-is-a-bridge-across-the-bad-years-of-high-hardware-costs-analyst-says-but-it-means-casuals-and-youngsters-will-drift-off-to-mobile-pc-and-free-to-play-even-faster/ https://redd.it/1vapdvc @r_gamingmemes

Resident Evil 4 reminded me how much I miss games that respect your time Lately I started appreciating games that just get to the point instead of stretching everything out with filler, endless side objectives, or even progression systems that feel like chores. A game does not need to be 80–100 hours long to feel worth playing. Sometimes a tighter 15–30 hour experience sticks with me way more because the pacing stays strong the whole way through. Resident Evil 4 is a good example for me because it keeps moving and almost always feels like something meaningful is happening. What games do you think respect the player’s time really well? https://redd.it/1v9wyvf @r_gamingmemes

I know it’s been said. But the loss of good mobile games for phones in the modern day is truly saddening. I remember around the iPhone 5-6 maybe the 4 I had so much hopes for gaming with smartphones. This was before micro transactions and when you would pay a few bucks and get a fully usually game that was creative and not just slop put together. Sure there was bad games but there wasn’t this recipe to reduce the game into a cash cow. It still involved someone who made it to be played for fun. The rise of micro transactions really destroyed all the momentum that was ever built up by the mobile gaming scene and what was going on was tossed to the side and a new dopamine driven model came to play that in my opinion just isn’t FUN to play. I can feel how it’s cheapened out and hollowed out to just get what they want from me rather than a company or person/ group wanting to put out an enjoyable experience and who are proud of their work. I’m sorry to repeat this in here it’s just so sad when I look at my phone and just don’t see things worth playing anymore and it just makes me get a bit angry and bummed. Does anyone have any good mobile phone games that aren’t cash grabs? I’m always interested in what is available at the hopes to find a rare gem. I will add. I don’t really mean ports of pc games to phone I find those don’t give the same kind of mobile game experience and I do look in the paid section. https://redd.it/1v9s93k @r_gamingmemes

Which game companies abandoned their winning formula in favour of changes that nobody asked for? I think how Rocksteady studios ruined Arkham series with Suicide Squad https://redd.it/1v9lap4 @r_gamingmemes
