Dr.Ramprasad Sir: Dear Pharm.D Comrades, As you are all aware, on 5th July 2021, with approval from the Central Government, PCI released the Pharmacy Practice (Amendment) Regulations, 2021. As a result of regular representations to PMO, Health Minister, Directorate of Health, Principal Secretary, Law Ministry, sitting on dharna at Jantar Mantar Delhi and putting constant pressure on Pharmacy Council of India and government, we have gained this amendment. We have done several meetings with PCI regarding amendment in PPR 2015 and for the demands for Pharm.D Professionals. We supported Simon Joshua sir ( Father of a Pharm.D graduate from Kerala) in his 52 days hunger strike. We are grateful to him for playing a vital role in getting the PPR (Amendment), 2021. Although the amendment finally passed after many efforts. But it is too early to celebrate victory as we have just reached our first stop. Our real victory will come when this amendment is implemented uniformly at the national and state levels. For this, we will have to start to representations again to the Union Health Minister and his Principal Secretary, the state health ministers and their Principal Secretaries to implement and why to enact the Pharmacy Practice (Amendment) Regulations, 2021. As we all know there are several groups and associations of Pharm.D in few states and they all are working for Pharm.D in various ways but they all are limited to their states or their region. According to our information, there are only 2 registered associations but they are at the state level and are in South India. As per the discussion and consultation with the Health Minister of a state, former Judge of the high court and with several senior and experienced Pharmacy Professionals, Finance lawmakers and Parents of Pharm.D graduates. We need to create a National Level Registered Body and this body will file a case in the supreme court and work toward the implementation of the Clinical Pharmacist Post and Separate Clinical Pharmacist Cadre for Pharm.D professionals at the Central Level as well as State Level. For this, we need your cooperation & contribution to achieve our goals as soon as possible. Thank you all for supporting us in the process.
