New parliament inauguration Highlights:-
š±Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the new parliament building on 28th May 2023.
šPm Modi installed a historic sceptre āSengolā near the Lok Sabha Speakerās chair.
š±The Sengol is a symbol of Indiaās independence and sovereignty, as well as its cultural heritage and diversity.
š±The Sengol is profound in meaning, derived from the Tamil word āSemmaiā, it means āRighteousnessā.
š±The Sengol was made of gold or silver and was often decorated with precious stones.
š±The Sengol is associated with the Chola Empire, one of the longest-ruling and most influential dynasties in South India.
šPm Modi also launches a 75 rupees denomination coin and stamp on the historic occasion.
š±The coin has circular shape with a diameter of 44 millimetres.
š±Its composition is a quaternary alloy :-
šø50 percent silver
š¹40 percent copper
šø5 percent nickel
š¹5 percent zinc
š±The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center, with the legend " ą¤øą¤¤ą„ą¤Æą¤®ą„ą¤µ ą¤ą¤Æą¤¤ą„" (Satyameva Jayate) inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word āą¤ą¤¾ą¤°ą¤¤ā (Bharat) in Devnagri script and on the right periphery the word āINDIAā in English.
š±The opposite side of the coin will display an image of the parliament complex. The inscription āSansad Sankulā will be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery while the words āParliament Complexā in English on the lower periphery of the coin.

š±Its triangular shape ensures optimum space utilization.
š±The new building of Parliament symbolizes the spirit of self-reliant India, Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
š±The Lok Sabha hall has 888 seats and it is based on the peacock theme, the National Bird.
š±The Rajya Sabha will have a capacity of 384 seats and it is based on a lotus theme, the National Flower.
š±The Lok Sabha hall will be able to accommodate 1,272 seats for joint sessions.
