🔸️Al-Luʾluʾ al-Atharīyyah | Atharī Pearls #8 — Using the Gregorian Calendar🔸️ Al-Shaykh al-Muḥaddith al-ʿAllāmah al-Nāṣiḥ al-Amīn, Yaḥyā Bin ʿAlī al-Ḥajūrī حفظه الله ورعاه said: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم، الحمد لله وصلاة وسلام على رسول الله، To proceed: Firstly, May Allāh bless you, what is with you and the Gregorian date? "Gregorian date, Gregorian date." The Date the companions of Rasūl Allāh ﷺ gathered on, and ʿUmar gathered them on that, and the Salaf, is the Hijrī Date/Calendar, and they acquired that. Indeed, some of our brothers, May Allāh preserve them, say: "Such-and-such happened on such-and-such Hijrī date, corresponding to such-and-such Gregorian date." Abandon this statement of "corresponding to"! Use Hijrī only! Abandon the Gregorian! Put the date of Hijrī which the Ummah acquired and suffice with that, so you become an aid for the Muslims in returning to the path of their correctness in advancing upon what the Salaf advanced in in this masʾalah. And the Salaf did not abandon the Gregorian date due to ignorance of it. They abandoned it like how they abandoned the first Qiblah; they abandoned the first date. Similarly, establishing with Islām, establishing with its starting, and establishing with the Hijrah. For indeed, the calendar started with the first of the Hijrah because Islām got victory with the Hijrah, and it didn't get victory with the start of Prophethood, because at the start of the Prophethood, al-Nabī ﷺ was opressed in it; his people were bold upon him. But the Hijrah; since al-Nabī ﷺ made Hijrah, victory began. Therefore, the calendar started with the Hijrah of al-Nabī ﷺ because it is the rise of Islām and emergence of rise of Islām." What to say when thunder strikes There is nothing authentic to the Prophet ﷺ in this regard. However, some of the people of knowledge, such as Sheikh Yahya hafidahullah, have said: "On the authority of 'Abdullāh ibn Zubair, that he used to refrain from speaking when he heard thunder, saying, «سبحان الذي يسبح الرعد بحمده والملائكة من خيفته» "Glory be to the One whom thunder glorifies with His praise, and the angels out of fear of Him." Thereafter he would say, "This is indeed a severe warning for the people of the earth." This was narrated by Malik in his Muwatta', and Bukhari in his Book of Manners (الأدب المفرد), and it is authentic. There is no harm in saying this, as it is a Dhikr, and especially since there is nothing contradictory or negating it." ... This Dhikr is supported by the Qur'ān [Sūrah Ar-Ra'd - 13] and it (this Āyah) is evidence for it.

Along with their severe mixing up the truth with falsehood upon some of the ignorant and foolish ones that they are against the Kuffaar and against Israa'eel, while they kill the Muslims near enough the likes of what Israa'eel is doing with the Muslims in Ghazah. They blow up houses and topple them upon the people living inside, and this is their norm from old and present that this is the action of the foolish ones and they will meet their recompense and what is the likes of that of lying upon the people, and that this is the action of one individual. This is from ancient, and their actions against some of the innocent and children and women and poor concerning the people of Radaa' a few days ago is a abominable action. It's not their first action nor their last, upon this their revolution was built, upon criminality, from its beginning, upon this criminality, upon this destruction, upon this killing, upon this mixing the truth with the falsehood, upon this fabricating, upon this, so make du'aa against them!, make du'aa against them! during the times of acceptance and during the witr's. He wouldn't be in need of anyone, this is ruqya, rather this is considered strength, if only he dedicated to that and a sick person gave importannce to the likes of this, this would be sufficient for him by the permission of Allaah. Whoever has ampleness in his life, as the Prophet ﷺ said: “You have everythinis which suffices you” and more.
