Chris Hemsworth recently underwent genetic testing and discovered he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene, significantly increasing his risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease in the future, which would make him forget about most of his life.
In a heartfelt gesture to support her husband, Elsa Pataky surprised Chris by undergoing an extensive transformation using special effects makeup to appear as an 87-year-old version of herself. The intent was to provide Chris with a glimpse of their future together, reinforcing their bond and creating a lasting memory that might help him recognize her should he face memory challenges later in life.
Chris was led to believe he was meeting an elderly fan. Upon realizing the woman before him was Elsa, he was visibly moved, expressing, “You’re still beautiful.” This touching moment highlighted the couple’s deep connection and their commitment to facing potential future challenges together.
