Just a quick announcement.
I'll be inactive from working on source until June patches roll out and after that as well as I'm currently experiencing financial issues and will be job hunting to compensate for it.
We appreciate all the positive feedback and support we received lately for the bug fixes and ROM additions. We're still trying to iron out any remaining issues, but they will be focused on once I properly get back on my feet.

Hey Evolution X community, AB here,
I wanted to inform you that I have decided to leave Telegram due to certain dynamics that have made it increasingly challenging to navigate. The imbalance between expectations and contributions within the userbase has played a significant role in this decision. While I have always been committed to providing support, there has been a strong emphasis on users end receiving help without actively participating or giving back to the community.
To ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the Evolution X community, it is crucial for users to recognize the importance of active participation and contribution. I will be focusing my efforts on platforms like XDA and a private IRC chat with the rest of the core team, where collaboration and contribution are valued.
I am grateful for Joey, the lead developer, and Akito, my fellow co-founder, for their support. I also appreciate those who have actively participated and contributed to the community. Although I won't be on Telegram, I will remain dedicated to the Evolution X community through alternative avenues.
My device specific groups will be handed over to trusted friends, admins, core members, etc.

We finally found the cause of the status bar touch issues in games/applications especially during landscape. It occurs after turning off the lockscreen unlock ripple effect.
For users on Evo X v7.9.1 and below, kindly keep that toggle ENABLED. We will be removing that toggle for v7.9.2 onwards to avoid this issue from occurring in newer releases.

We've bumped the version to 7.9.1 (now Lumpia) to differentiate the changes from the android-13.0.0_r43 merge and android-13.0.0_r49 (which includes changes within the Pixel 7a release).

At the moment, we're still waiting for Google's team to push the May security patches to googlesource. For now, we'll announce that version 7.9 will be called Kare-kare!

And before questions are asked regarding 8.0, we will use that for Android 14. The next versions after 7.9 will be 7.9.1, 7.9.2, etc. Hope that clarifies our current versioning.

The Google restore issue has been properly resolved thanks to minaripenguin!

This was mostly a Google oversight which was causing all package overlays to be backed up therefore disallowing proper restoration of data due to the parcel size being too large to transfer.
Expect the fix to be included in builds released after this announcement.
Also, we're expecting the May security patches to be released within the next 12 hours so expect our May patch releases to roll out within the next few days. β€οΈ
