Everyday Discrimination Isn’t a Thing of the Past. It’s Still Around Us. You don’t need to look far to find caste discrimination. It's not always loud or violent — sometimes, it hides in plain sight: 📌 “Use different/maintenance lift.” 📌 “Househelp shouldn’t use our washroom.” 📌 “Give them tea in a separate cup.” These aren't just “house rules.” They are modern forms of untouchability — a cruel reminder that caste still decides dignity. When we deny basic respect to domestic workers — most of whom belong to historically marginalized castes — we’re not just being classist. We're reinforcing centuries of caste hierarchy. Let’s be clear: Caste discrimination is illegal. But more importantly, it’s inhumane. Respect is not a privilege. It’s a right. Your caste or class should never define your access to dignity. This is how caste system or discrimination persists, only the form changes.
