People say there are no stupid questions, but I say there are questions that decrease your status and quality people’s desire to have you around. If you ask a person what app they used, do not ask how much it costs and how to access it. You can Google that. If a person recommends a book to you, do not ask where to get it. You can Google that. When you read a person’s post and find a word you don’t know, do not ask for the meaning. Look it up on Google and return to the post with enhanced understanding. All fingers are not equal and it’s quite the same with our respective educational backgrounds. Google is an equalizer in many regards including this, so use it. There are questions that make you attractive to converse with and stay connected to. And there are questions that signal to onlookers that you’re a commoner. “Wisdom is the ability to discern the difference.” - Mike Murdock So discern. The School of the Poor loves verses like ‘ask and it shall be given’. The slogan is valid but out of order. It works for those who focused FIRST on the philosophy of “Give and it shall be given unto you”. It works for those who understand FIRST the wisdom of "The borrower is the slave to the lender". Only after giving, do the elite ask. They know for a fact and without prayer, that the answer will never be NO. The poor hope and pray to be favoured. The rich guarantee it. Nigeria’s most influential politicians practice this and prosper. Some will be elected into office this year based on this principle, and they will rule over you. Remember this: Poverty is not financial lack. It’s a system and culture that makes you act out in ways that burns your bridges and destroys your seed before it has a chance to germinate. Stop. Think. One skill that can get you ahead in the world is learning to properly articulate yourself to people. Do not be content with habitually rambling and fumbling over your points. Take some time to practice arranging your points on paper, then in your head, before doing so verbally in words. In time, you won’t need paper. You’ll grow fluent… Influential too.
