This year, the list of our guest speakers include: ⚡️Aidyn Ubingazhibov is a senior CS student at NU, who had research internships in Computer Vision and Graph Neural Networks for emotion recognition at Agency for Science and Technology (A*STAR). ⚡️Meruyert Karzhaubayeva is a junior CS student at NU, who has been RA since June 2021. She worked on the source code of Darknet image detection system, familiarized herself with CUDA (C/C++ extension that allows GPU parallelism). ⚡️Batyrbek Mukhatbekov is a junior CS student at NU, who had research internships at The Institute for Infocomm Research of Agency for Science and Technology (A*STAR) in Singapore. We’re excited to invite you to our first of two sessions of the discussion of the book The Gendered Brain: The new neuroscience that shatters the myth of the female brain, by Professor Gina Rippon Professor Gina Rippon is an international researcher in the field of cognitive neuroscience based at the Aston Brain Centre at Aston University in Birmingham. In her book The Gendered Brain: The new neuroscience that shatters the myth of the female brain, she explores the existing gendered brain myth and opposes it with the recent neuroscience research. In this two-session book discussion, we will talk over our current beliefs about the female and male brains, challenge these beliefs by reading The Gendered Brain, and then reflect upon how the book changed our view on the topic. ✨ We do not expect participants to read the book before this session, everyone is welcome to share their opinions!
