IMAGINE…living for 50+ years (or more)!only to wake up one day, something happens and you realize you’ve been A COWARD your entire life! Of all human weaknesses cowardice has to be the worst and most insidious. But how to know if you are one? (Cowards lie first and foremost to themselves about who they are). Quick checklist: look at your friends. If 90% of them are cowards, what are the chances you tolerate their cowardice because 90% of you is a coward, too? Find yourself some friends who are 90% courage. You’ll feel awkward and uncomfortable at first (if a coward would even be able to be a friend of someone with courage). But if you persist, you might get free. Everyone fears something. I do, too. But cowards are made of fear. They practically have never truly lived. Because the essence of true life is the ability to take on real risk, to fail and to know how that tastes like. And then pick yourself up and take on more risk, and this time to succeed and to know the taste of that, too. True for every aspect of life where risk and reward are at play: relationships, businesses, career. Only dead people are perfectly safe. I have been working diligently to remove the cowards from my life in the last 10 years. Some call bad friends hypocrites. I don’t see it that way. It’s cowardice. Hypocrisy is only a skin, the outward manifestation of the soul of the coward. It’s better to have handful of true friends who have tasted both failure and success and have chosen to live by courage. Cowards will do anything to avoid getting exposed for what they are. It’s a wasted life spent to cover up their true sickly inner self. Have courage. And have a wonderful rest of the week! George
