Thursday 29.08.2024 we will have a LesBiTrans Café without cis men. Invited are all wonderful lesbian and bisexual women (cis and trans of course), glamorous non binary, wonderful inter and gorgeous trans people (trans men and women regardless of sexual orientation). It does not matter how you look or in what gender-box people put you, all what matters is what YOU know you are. Come as you are! Cis men cannot attend this event. So we kindly ask all cis men to stay at home tomorrow and come again next week. Please spread with your friends who are not in this group. We got some new games to test! 💜💜💜💜

Yesterday, Istanbul-based LGBTIQ activist İris Mozalar had her home raided and was arrested. Turkish authorities claim that one of her tweets, in which she reacted against the racist attacks on Syrian refugees in Turkey, “incited the public to hatred and hostility”. However, her arrest is more likely linked to her work with trans and queer groups and her involvement in Istanbul Pride, which took place less than two weeks ago. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case. Turkish authorities will do everything they can to stop queer people from organising and fighting for a better life. Despite this difficult situation, LGBTIQ asylum seekers from Turkey are still very unlikely to get a positive decision from the Austrian authorities. Turkey is not a safe country, yet EU countries are complicit in pretending otherwise. This allows Turkey to maintain its role as the gatekeeper for refugees and migrants seeking to reach Europe. 🌈 We are back wirh our fundraising happening on July 5th at the @celeste_wien in Hamburgerstrasse 18 in 1050 Vienna. Doors open at 22:00. Please open you hearts and wallets to support our Legal Advice that always & forever provide legal advice to queer refugees free of charge. As times may seem tough and sometimes mountains to high to climb, with queer joy, love and compassion for one another we can move mountains and our celebration of life will open hearts for a better tomorrow. We will announce the performance and DJ line up soon. We hope to see you all once again at the celeste. The entrance is pf course free of charge, but we suggest a donation of 10€.
