Say hi :) | 274 |
| 4 | Which bot type are you running most this June? | 273 |
| 5 | The same pair on Binance and Bybit can move differently. Different fills, different fees, different liquidity, sometimes a different price.
For arbitrage, that gap is mostly a trap. By the time you buy on Exchange A, transfer the coin, and sell on Exchange B, the gap is closed and fees ate your edge.
But the gap itself is real information:
- Big, persistent gaps can flag exchange problems: frozen withdrawals, technical issues, low liquidity on one platform.
- They show where the real pressure sits. If one exchange consistently leads, that's where demand is.
- They tell you which exchange to actually run your bot on.
This matters more for bots. A 3Commas bot runs on one exchange per pair, and that choice shapes your fills, your TP hits, and your effective fees. If one exchange consistently lags on your pair, move the bot. If you run the same bot on several exchanges, the comparison itself is the data.
Use cross-exchange differences to pick the right venue. Not as a strategy. As a filter.

| 7 | π° BTC Dominance shows what share of the entire crypto market is just Bitcoin. It tells you whether you're trading with the wind or against it.
The simple read:
β’ Dominance rising. Bitcoin is "eating" the alts. Bad environment for alt trades.
β’ Dominance falling. Money flows from BTC into alts. Good environment for alts.
A human glances at this chart before opening an alt position. A bot doesn't. It keeps firing trades on its settings, regardless of macro. That's why BTC.D is more useful for bot traders than manual ones.
How to use it with your alt bots:
β’ BTC.D rising sharply? Pause or stop your alt DCA bots. Otherwise the bot keeps averaging down on alts bleeding against both BTC and USD.
β’ BTC.D falling and Bitcoin stable or rising? Activate alt bots. That's the friendliest setup for them.
Advanced: add BTC.D to a TradingView chart, set a webhook alert, and pipe it into a Signal Bot. The bot reacts to the macro picture, not just one pair chart.
Set the rule once. Let the macro decide when your alt bots trade.

| 10 | A human can react to a thin order book. A bot can't.
That's why the most important liquidity check happens before you launch.
Trade a thin coin manually and you adjust: smaller size, split orders, wait for better fills. Your DCA bot does none of that. It fires at market, eats the slippage, and bleeds your edge across hundreds of fills.
So filter for liquidity upfront:
π’Pick pairs with high 24h volume. 3Commas lets you sort and filter by volume. Use it.
π’Avoid micro-cap alts with thin books. The chart can look perfect and the bot still gets murdered on TP and stop-loss fills.
π’For Grid bots, depth matters more, not less. You're placing many orders both ways, you need a market that can fill them.
π’Recheck your pairs every few weeks. Liquidity decays.
Rule of thumb: if the book's too thin to trade manually, don't put a bot on it either.

| 12 | Your bot hit +2% Take Profit. You're still down in dollars.
That's what BTC pairs can do to you.
On a stablecoin pair like ETH/USDT, +2% TP means +2% in dollars. One thing moves: the coin you're buying. The math is honest.
On a BTC pair, two things move. Your alt can rise while Bitcoin drops harder, and your dollar PnL goes red even though the bot logged a "win." Same trap on Averaging Orders. The bot calculates everything against the quote currency, and on BTC pairs that quote is itself a moving asset.
BTC pairs still make sense when you're betting an alt will outperform Bitcoin, or hedging exposure instead of chasing dollar gains.
For everything else, stablecoin pairs.
