Messier 22 (M22) is a globular cluster located near the Milky Way bulge, the tightly packed group of stars near the galactic center. The cluster lies in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is one of the brightest globular clusters in the sky and was one of the first objects of this kind to be discovered and studied. M22 is also one of the nearest globulars to the solar system. The only globular cluster closer to us is Messier 4, located in the neighboring constellation Scorpius. M22 is elliptical in shape and lies at a distance of 10,600 light years from Earth. Sh2-119 is a fascinating emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus and lies some 2200 light years away. This nebula is a glowing cloud of gas and dust, illuminated by the light of nearby stars. The bright, blue-white stars within Sh2-119 are responsible for ionizing the gas within the nebula, causing it to emit light at specific wavelengths. Like many other nebulae, Sh2-119 is a reminder of the incredible power of the universe. The Elephant Trunk Nebula

The large emission nebula dubbed IC 1805 looks, in whole, like a human heart. The nebula glows brightly in red light emitted by its most prominent element: hydrogen. The red glow and the larger shape are all powered by a small group of stars near the nebula's center. In the center of the Heart Nebula are young stars from the open star cluster Melotte 15 that are eroding away several picturesque dust pillars with their energetic light and winds. The open cluster of stars contains a few bright stars nearly 50 times the mass of our Sun, many dim stars only a fraction of the mass of our Sun, and an absent microquasar that was expelled millions of years ago. The Heart Nebula is located about 7,500 light years away toward the constellation of Cassiopeia. 42 x 300s (3.5hrs)

The Iris Nebula is located 1,400 lightyears away in the Cepheus constellation. This floral cloud of cosmic dust and gas is a reflection nebula, meaning it glows due to the scattering of the light from its central star. The Iris Nebula is also known as Caldwell 4 - a member of the Caldwell Catalog compiled by Sir Patrick Moore - and NGC 7023. The petal-like structure that gives the Iris Nebula its nickname is 6 lightyears in diameter.
