Integral Advaita:
Reality is ultimately Brahman, but unlike a purely world-negating Advaita, Sri Aurobindo considers the world to be a real manifestation of the Divine.
Evolution of Consciousness:
Evolution is not merely biological; it is fundamentally the evolution of consciousness. Matter gradually evolves toward Life, Mind, and ultimately Supermind.
Supermind:
The Supermind is the divine consciousness that transcends the limitations of ordinary mind and unites truth, knowledge, and existence.
Integral Yoga:
Spiritual liberation should not mean escaping from worldly life. Through the transformation of body, life, mind, and consciousness, human beings can realise the Divine in everyday existence.
Divine Life:
The ultimate aim is the emergence of a higher, divinised human consciousness and the transformation of earthly life into a Divine Life.
Human Destiny:
Human beings are not the final stage of evolution; they are transitional beings moving toward a higher spiritual consciousness.
Essence of Sri Aurobindo's Philosophy
“Life is not an illusion to be rejected but a manifestation of the Divine to be transformed.”
In essence, Sri Aurobindo combines the spiritual insight of Vedānta with the evolutionary vision of modern thought. His philosophy teaches that the goal of human existence is not merely mokṣa or escape from the world, but the transformation of human nature and earthly life through the progressive realisation of the Divine.
