You can now trade your Topstep accounts straight from AlgoDesk.
✅ Connect with your TopstepX user name and an API key
✅ Every account under your profile (Trading Combine, practice and Express Funded) appears in AlgoDesk under its TopstepX name
✅ Live CME futures prices and history from Topstep’s own feed
✅ Market, limit and stop orders from charts, the Book Trader and your strategies
✅ Run your own strategies on your Topstep account
What you need:
• A TopstepX login
• ProjectX API Access (half price with the code topstep)
• An API key, made in TopstepX
📖 Step-by-step setup guide:
https://algo-desk.com/docs/connections/topstep
Try it on Topstep’s free practice account first. Topstep’s API rules apply: trade from your own computer (no VPS or VPN), and Live Funded accounts are not available through the API.
Also in 1.0.22:
• Scripts can send web requests and draw flat line plots
• Chart Trader now starts on Local paper, so nothing reaches your broker until you choose an account
• Backtester trades show on the chart straight away, plus several fixes
⬇️ AlgoDesk offers the update when you sign in, or download it at https://algo-desk.com/download
Global trades in AlgoDesk allows you to filter and keep track of all your trades on any local or live accounts, plus figure whether you made them from chart trader, a specific strategy or even from book trader!
This is not something that happened overnight guys, I spent about month and a half implementing the MCP into AlgoDesk, step by step and finally wow... quite interesting results
So left it for 3 hours and came back to this result.... pretty shocked to be honest)
Working on its own inside AlgoDesk, it:
• imported the strategy, fixed it so AlgoDesk would compile it, and set up instrument lists for 15 CME micro futures plus their full-size twins
• downloaded about ten years of 5-minute data
• ran the strategy as delivered in AlgoDesk’s backtester
• wrote its own research scanner to test hundreds of variations per day. It checked the scanner against AlgoDesk’s engine first: 1,190 of 1,200 trades matched exactly.
• added a realistic commission + slippage model and a custom optimizer score
• ran more than 1,000 variant tests across three separate time periods, with costs on every number
• guarded against luck with coin-flip tests, walk-forward optimization, Monte Carlo drawdowns and a holdout period it opened only once, after writing the pass criteria down
The result was an honest verdict, not a curve-fit. The strategy as written doesn’t make money after costs. One narrow configuration in crypto micro futures shows an edge that beats a coin flip on data the AI had never seen, but it’s small and has been fading.
It finished by publishing a full research report with interactive charts
Is anyone interested to see how that works? Post you email in comments maybe I make a webinar to show this approach if it works out
Today I am running my first automated MCP tests on a strategy. Long story short, I got absolutely frustrated with the fact of continuous disappointment loop. You test your best ideas only to see them fail all over the place, then you start trying to save them and you loose the rational approach at some point where my head just starts randomizing and the results I get all just blend into one dazed emotional stress. So I integrated MCP so Claude can control everyhting in AlgoDesk, data, backtester, optimizer, strategy code etc. and wrote a set of skills so it goes in and tries to find something meaningful for me look at ie. edge itself. I put it on an RDP now for a few hours and will come back soon to see how it does. I am exited but to be honest I don't have high expectations.

Hey everyone 👋
Something I’ve been working on for a long time is ready, and I want you to be the first to try it.
I’ve connected AlgoDesk, the trading platform I’ve been building, to NinjaTrader. You sign in with your existing NinjaTrader login, on Tradovate’s own secure page, so AlgoDesk never sees your password. Your NT accounts and market data come straight in, and you can trade your NinjaTrader accounts directly from AlgoDesk, Live or Demo. There’s no new broker, no new data feed, and nothing to migrate.
What you get through the connection:
CME futures (ES, NQ, MES, MNQ and the rest) with live prices and full market depth
History back to 2017 for backtesting
Market, limit, stop and stop-limit orders from charts, the book or your strategies
Your balance, your positions, and even the orders you placed in NinjaTrader itself
Why I built it: writing a strategy isn’t the hard part anymore. The hard part is knowing whether it actually holds up. AlgoDesk is built for exactly that:
📊 Backtest one strategy across your whole instrument list at once
🔁 Walk-forward optimisation, so every parameter set is tested on data it never saw
✅ A clear keep or drop, with in-sample and out-of-sample results side by side
🤖 Claude does the heavy lifting: it writes your strategies, runs the tests and tells you what it sees
⚡️ When something passes, you trade it on your NT account from the same app
For you guys only: 50% off with code NTADL50
You get the first month free, with no card needed. If you decide to keep it, enter NTADL50 when you pick your plan and you pay half.
👉 Try it: https://algo-desk.com/desktop
🔧 Setup takes 2 minutes: https://algo-desk.com/docs/connections/tradovate
(In AlgoDesk, add a Tradovate connection and sign in with your NinjaTrader login.)
Try it and tell me honestly what you think. Message me directly with anything you’d like added. I read everything, and we add things fast.
+1
would you trade this? strategy has no parameters... this is a 1 year backtest on micro gold...being said that it screwed up on almost every other micro + that it has a 55% win rate with very close win size to loose size I would say no no no
How many strategies do you have to trash before finding some edge?) You comments
Today I realized that last time I even touched code was more than 6 months ago and I really felt like it...
