🌟 Differences b|w 2types of streptolysins O&S : - type O : O2 labile, immunogenic , it's role important inside the body . - type S : O2 stable , non immunogenic , its role important in lab. Cultures.

Structural ,which are : - Protein M + lipoteichoic acid are adhesins and antiphagocytic by inhibition of C3b. - R,T,F proteins (but not protein A = staph) - Capsule of hyaluronic acid (non Antigenic and weak antiphagocytic) - Teichoic acids Note: M.protein is the major virulence factor os S.pyogens . 2). Enzymes ,which are : - streptokinases A&B types - hyaluronidase - streptoDNAase A,B,C&D .. decrease viscosity Note : all of them are help in bacterial spread - C5a peptidase as antiphagocytic 3). Toxins ,which are: - Hemolysins S and O - Erythrogenic toxin (pyrogenic) A,B,C,F Note : - Antistreptolysin O antibodies are used for Dx of Rh.F and PSCGN . - pyrogenic A cause Scarlet fever and TSS .. but necrotizing fasciitis is caused by pyrogenic B toxin .

🌟 3). Gamma hemolysis = non - Gamma hemolytic streptococci includes : S.bovis & S.feacalis = Enterococcus

🌟 2). Beta hemolysis = complete By the action of Streptolysin S toxin . - Beta hemolytic streptococci includes : S.pyogens & S.agalactia - Both are Differentiated by the following : M.protein , Lancifeild classification (CHO surface ag) and Bacitracin antibiotic test .. - S.pyogens is sensetive to Bacitracin , and according to Lancifeild classification , is called : Group A Beta hemolytic streptococci = GABSCH - S.agalactia is Bacitracin resistant .. and called Group B .. its normal flora of vagina , so it cause #neonatal infx ,, as well as adult infx like : Endometritis , pneumonia, endocarditis, OM, UTI .

Alpha hemolysis = partial By the action of peroxidase enzyme ,which's converts HB into MetHB With green colour. - alpha hemolytic streptococci includes : S.pneumonia & S.viridans - Both are Differentiated by the following : quelling test , pathogenicity of mices bile solubility and optochin antibiotic test - All are +ve with S.pneumonia .. - S.viridans is normal flora of oral cavity , responsible for dental caries and plaques , and Subacute Endocarditis .. - S.pneumonia is the most common cause of CA- pneumonia and otitis media ..

#Micro #Systemic.Bacteriology #Post No.4: 🌟 Staph.arueus Microscopic examination shows : G+ve cocci arranged in grapelike clusters + numerous PMNs due to its suppurative inflammation = containing pus , which's composed of : PMNs + pus cell + necrotic tissue . 🌟 Staph.arueus is simple bacteria i,e can grow in - nutrient agar gives deep yelow = golden colonies (so called arueus) also it grow on : - bloog agar gives Beta hemolysis activity - mannitol salt agar gives yellow coloured colonies .. Note : only S.arueus can grow in Mannitol salt agar .. but CNS (coagulase negative staphylococci) cannot .
