Navalny’s mother and widow are at odds over the beacon of democracy’s heritage

I have just published an extended essay titled The Children of Israel in the Qur'an on my Substack.
It runs to just under 7,500 words and both achieves a definition for what is meant in the Qur'an by the children of Israel and lays the methodological groundwork for further installments of the project provisionally titled The Qur'an & Earlier Writings.
It also produces some surprises along the way.
The entire article is open now for paid subscribers, while a preview is currently open to free subscribers.
The entire article will open automatically to free subscribes in seven days.
Part of the benefit of Substack for me is as a place to get qualified, sane feedback, and I welcome identificaiton there of any logical or grammatical errors in my work. Readers generally should appreciate that future minor edits of this text are to be expected.

Over the last ten days, I've been busy researching and writing an extended essay (over 6,000 words) that explores the meaning of 'the children of Israel' as depicted in the Qur'an.
It's crucial to clarify this term's understanding before moving on to comparative or conflicting narratives.
I aim to release this article on my Substack tomorrow, God willing.

One of the more enlightening interviews in recent times that I’ve seen.

Sam Gerrans: Just so people know: in Russia itself, Alexey Navalny was unimportant. He was the male equivalent to Pussy Riot at most. It is only in the west that he had significance. There do exist quite prominent anti-Putin elements here, but most of them are more anti-West than Putin himself.

Very much worth listening to Sachs in the first 9 minutes.
