We shall start studying from July 15. I will post 1 week timetable every sunday of topics to study that week. Start now so you will be well prepared in 4 months. You also need time for revision. Keep your eyes on goal, and work towards it, you will succeed.

In NET you are asked to arrange theories or theorists in chronological order (according to year , which was proposed first) So while studying theories make a chart or excel spreadsheet .. Year, theorist , theory key points. For personality theories, learning theories, cognitive theories, psychopathology theories, industrial theories , etc

Almost 18 questions were asked from physiology / biopsychology .. directly or indirectly in July NET 2018. Eg. Cranial nerves, bilateral lesions, neural model, parvocellular pathways, neural underpinnings of emotions, motivation, etc So please focus on this.

You don't have to read the whole book. Selective reading is the key. First thing you should do is mark the syllabus in these books and then read only that thoroughly.

The books for UGC NET Paper 2. Start from basics NCERT for 11th & 12th should be read thoroughly Read the general psychology book named ‘ Psychology' by Robert Baron thoroughly - thank me later for recommending this book (almost 10Q asked from this) Morgan and king Solso and Galotti - for cognitive psychology Personality- hall and Lindsay. (Read the theories, concepts and biographies ) Read a book on industrial psychology and physiological psychology - this is a must because these are 2 major focal areas - you could read Schultz and Schultz , and Pinel. As for clinical psychology.. Abnormal psychology by Butcher and Handbook of psychiatry. For research methods - statistical reasoning by Bruce King. For testing - Kaplan For therapies - Corey and Nelson-Jones. You can do it. Study hard

Though the pattern of exam has changed (the paper 2 and Paper 3 have been combined) The syllabus remains the same and the type of questions asked remains the same.

From Dec 2018 UGC will be in online format. It is a good thing for 2 reasons 1) saves the time needed to color the circle on OMR sheet (almost 7-10 mins). 2) Gives to the flexibility to change your marked answer. Eg. In OMR sheet if you by mistake mark the wrong circle, nothing can be done.

Multiple ppl have raised complains regarding the Paper 1, earlier you were expected to solve 50 questions in 75 minutes and now you have to solve the same number of questions in 60mins. Many ppl could not complete the Paper 1 and asked UGC (now NTA) to increase the time. There is no guarantee that UGC will increase the time, so the only way around will be increasing your speed by practicing.

Hello Everyone. Many of you will start preparing for NET December 2018. First and foremost strategy for clearing any exam, not just UGC NET is the following. 1. Read the syllabus and learn it. Without being aware of the syllabus you are like a traveller with destination but no map or GPS. So get your GPS! 2. Read and try to solve last 3 years Q papers. The question papers give you the much needed insight to pattern of exam and what kind of questions to expect. With this knowledge you can study with a better approach, selectively scanning instead reading everything. Analogous to map reading as just having the map isn't enough. 3. Please remember this is an objective exam not subjective like your university exams. So the study approach has to be different!! Recognition is the key, not recall. Regards @psychprep
