In January 1984, as a University of Miami sophomore, Center for Security Policy senior analyst J. Michael Waller (then a George Washington University student) and I were among the few Americans ever afforded access to the frontline base camps of the U.S.-supported Nicaraguan contras who were then engaged in a vital Cold War battle against Nicaragua's Soviet-supported Marxist regime. We discussed it all in a One America News (OAN) segment a few weeks back. Noisy Room, a great conservative blog, published this summary of it yesterday: http://noisyroom.net/blog/2021/05/24/nicaraguas-battle-against-communism/
