FloydQ V7.0 HotFix1
This is a pretty important hotfix, as to avoid reuploading the entire ROM for 700kbs, download this patch and flash it via TWRP.
This is required mainly if you use SElinux enforcing, however some users reported issues while permissive aswell. This fixes the following :
1) An issue that prevented lockscreen from being set
2) An issue that prevented the phone from switching to permissive when enforcing is not enabled
3) Patches various Selinux denials that users reported in logs
4) some fixes for Storage denials
This will fix the first 3 issues, however if you are one of the users who had issues relating to internal storage (Unable to take screenshot due to policy, unable to write data to internal or sdcard) then this fix is not likely to help much, you will have to reinstall the ROM and NOT select enforcing (so the ROM is permissive)
I dont know why it happens yet, when it is figured out hotfix2 will be released.
If anyone complains about the issues listed above please guide them to this post.

FloydRom Q V7 - OneUI 2.5 For Galaxy S7,S7 EDGE and Note 7
15 Months later...That has to be a record. Thanks for your patience, V7 took a lot of effort and time, both of which i lacked due to real life, However i am hopeful that this release will be a better send off than V6.
Alot has been done under the hood, many things were changed, and the kernel has been optimized.
V7 comes with few new features, including Selinux Enforcing and support for IRIS. i advise you to read the F.A.Q And release notes to get the full picture.
Github reports page has been updated to reflect new changes, please report new / reoccurring bugs incase i made V8 in 2025
Clean flash with no restores is recommended if you faced issues
Enjoy the release. and as always, if you appreciate what i do, leave a thanks, constructive feedback and consider a donation
Please don't forget to read the updated F.A.Q/Notes Here

Few updates regarding V7.0
Key changes are:
- an overall change to the audio system (again for the 5th time probably lol) with improved bass and loudness, and hopefully less "bugs".
- Rom has been rebased to latest May 2022 Note 9 release
- S9 Inifnity wallpaper option has been dropped, as samsung no longer updates the S9 for the needed APKs
- Kernel has been improved and hopefully no more black screens / random freezes (none so far in testing)
- Camera has been significantly improved stability wise thanks to new FDSan fixes by ivan meler
- Various changes has been done to try and mitigate a bunch of random bugs reported on github
- And RAM has been adjusted again to avoid few reports of OOM crashes
- Everything that has been done in the hades Q project has also been merged, fixes wise
And finally, the ROM now comes with an option in aroma to enable Selinux Enforcing, If you dont know what this is, the option is unchecked by default, but TLDR; selinux enforcing improves security and will allow you to use many more apps that detect Root, such as bank apps without even needing magisk to be installed.
Though i should mention, Enforcing ONLY works in cronos kernel. if you switch to other kernels it will switch to permissive automatically
And thats about it major changes wise. Thanks for sticking along
The ROM is entering the final testing stage, and hopefully will be released this month if all goes to plan, Sadly so far i am unable to fix IRIS sensor on the note 7 models, we will continue testing the ROM to try to make sure its as stable as possible, unlike the mess that is V6

some of you been asking about status updates and what not, i did post on XDA. but i will forward it here for those who missed it.
but yeah there will be a V7 at some point. it will be Q, R for now is too heavy and laggy to be usable
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-10-0-oneui-2-5-g930x-g935x-n930x-n935x-floydq-v6-0.4085667/post-85596137

Think it is time to address some questions that have been ongoing for a while now.
- Will there be a V7 ?
> not sure, there is nothing more i can fix in Q, aside from a rom rebase, and a kernel refresh (to fix some of the freeze issues) there isnt more we can do. V6 is really EOL if you use a different kernel, V7 wont offer anything extra that is important.
so FloydQ is probably on hold unless i find some way to fix something big enough to make it worthwhile
- Will there be a OneUI 3.1 port
> Probably Not, not to the standards i would like to see, currently there are few bugs that need fixing,
1- Hardware composer
2- Samsung Camera
3- button keylight/vibration
4- might be some more i didn't find yet
Everything else is in-sync with android Q, this bug list alone does not make for a "stable" and "usable" rom in my opinion, yes you can use GCAM, but thats only few people, samsung camera is critical and ive seen how people react to roms before with no samsung camera. i am not going down that route again
The biggest problem is obviously the HWC, we can "hack" around it and disable some stuff to make it not reboot the phone every 5 minutes, but these are ugly hacks that are not guaranteed to be stable, and not cause random soft reboots
Samsung Camera and HWC are both very unlikely to be fixed, and without those two, i really cant push a ROM out.
- So what is next ?
I am simply burned out, i do not have any motivation to do much relating to oneui, yeah sure here and there ill make few things for my self, but that is only because i dont have the pressure of hundreds constantly asking for status and updates or others having high expectations and demands which i know i am not likely to meet
And this summer i am going to be more busy, i will be working and i wont have much time for heavy time consuming projects, after all, android is not a source of income, and i need one. and no i do not want to put my roms behind a paywall, as thats not something i stand for.
i will only be working on "minor" things, that i can finish in an hour or two, such as an update i have coming up for a different phone. or minor tweaking here and there. but to sit every day for hours on end to fix and make massive roms, i do not think i have the time for that any more.
Lastly, i know you guys are waiting, (both the exy8890 and 8895 people), i will do my best to push a V7 for 8890, to try and tie whatever lose ends we have, but that is going to be the EOL version for the S7, regarding 8895, hadesV2 will be released very soon, but more on that will be posted on its appropriate channel.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk

I will release a V6.6 kernel update soon that should help with the wakeup issues some users faced, and a slight improvement to audio muting workaround. dont have ETAs, will do it when i have the time

Fuck it. My laptop screen broke while trying to replace the top cover and fix the hinges. Prices here range from 180$ to 250$. I have not found a reliable supplier yet.
If you want to help. Here is my PayPal.
If not, it's fine. I doubt i will fundraise that much anyway so I'll continue the rest from whatever money i can save up by the end of the month
Thanks regardless if you want to help. Or make fun. All options avaliable.
Cheers.

FloydRom Q V6 - OneUI 2.5 For Galaxy S7,S7 EDGE and Note 7
No this isn't an April's fools joke, its been 5 months since the last release, i expected the popularity of this rom to go down and vanish. however, 30 thousand downloads later, i think it is time to push another update. perhaps the last Q update. i dont know what more i can improve in this rom.
This release comes with a ton of significant fixes in every direction, all the way from stability, to muting to performance was adjusted.
Time flies, in 20 days this rom will be a year old, id like to give a massive shoutout to the testing team for their non stop help and support! and for the users who where supportive since day one!
P.S : Majority of the fixes are kernel sided, Do not change kernels until they are updated
Enjoy the release. and as always, if you appreciate what i do, leave a thanks, constructive feedback and consider a donation

in response to the permissive tweet by john, my thoughts are summarized here
This should be of no surprise to anyone who is running ported roms like the one in this channel, this isn't AOSP, nor is it open-source where you can just patch every denial under the sun to get it working enforced.
permissive is insecure, it leaves you vulnerable to attacks, similar to how rooting leaves your phone insecure, or removing encryption and so on. no one is denying that, and its pretty common knowledge if you did your due diligence before deciding to flash community software on your device
if it was just a "switch" that lets you enforce your rom, no dev in my circles including my self would choose not to, calling it "toxic and irresponsible" IS toxic.
spreading information about the dangers of rooting / permissive is great, but tossing "backdoor" is not the way to go about it.
For those wondering, Floyd and Hades Q port for the Exynos8890/8895 (and previous higher SDK ports such as Prometheus ROMs on Exynos7870, Floyd Pie on the Exynos7420, or Refined ROM on the Note 4) All run in permissive mode and it was one of the first things listed in the threads, not because i want to pwn my users, its because there is no "reliable" way of booting such ports enforced. i have spent a month trying to do so on the S7, it is not feasible and reliable the older your Hardware gets
With time sure, it might be possible once, but not without releasing versions with a ton more bugs due to random denials that will show up in random scenarios
If i am not credible enough to discuss this, arter has a great thread about it Here
i do agree with the point that, now that such vulns are known, and exploitable, we should put more effort into enforcing our roms. i have yet to decide when i can spend months enforcing this.

PSA : Floyd V6 is NOT OneUI 3.0 or Android R
it is OneUI 2.5 Android Q
i am not sure where many got the impression that the next version is R, but it is not. dont get your self banned as R discussion is not really a thing in our group any time soon, I wont be releasing R for the Note 8 or S7 any time soon, if ever. because of critical bugs with HWC that would make the port useless.
my only R project will be for exynos9810 and that is not even confirmed 100% to be public. i am not sure yet i want to support another SOC as i dont have much time
so please keep R discussion out of this channel until i actually say "hey im doing R for XYZ"
Thanks

development is going to be slow from my end for the 8890 and 8895, my laptop sata cable broke and i pretty much lost 2TB of my storage, ordered a replacement part from ali express but it will take a month or so to arrive. i will try and do something but i cant guarantee im going to be able to work on the same pace, as i use my hdd for pretty much everything. do not expect floyd v6 this month.

Alright boys, since i have finished my exams at last, ill be free now for floyd shenanigans, been working on the kernel for a bit now, trying to make performance less shitty, thanks to help from @nalasTS and @morogoku the kernel will come with few fixes and improvements,
right now im testing the whole battery miscalibration bullshit, also we finally have working ZRAM with lz4 compression, so you can store your entire family in SWAP and not complain about "ram" ever again.
other than that, i have allowed overclocking the GPU to 806 for your intense PUBG sessions at 2FPS, and i tuned inputbooster quite a bit to fix some shit performance in UI, i have only been using the kernel for like 2 hours, so long term testing will have to wait.
ok now the ROM, a user finally managed to get an actual LOG of the audio muting issue, and its actually readable for once, so i will be looking at ways to fix that, along side some other camera fixes like EIS, and hopefully a fix for invalid pthreads at last (which makes u reboot your phone to get camera working again)
so yeah thats the update for now, everything is still up in the air, i have not touched this phone since V5 release, so ill keep you posted on what i figure out.
i doubt i will squeeze a release in this month, but i am aiming for early jan 2021, maybe on my birthday idk.
ok thanks bye
