Tech giants (Nvidia, AMD, Microsoft, Google, etc.) are building out massive AI datacenters at an unprecedented pace. These AI chips require an extreme amount of high-speed memory called HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) and specialized server RAM.
How is this effecting Normal Consumer of Laptops / Phones / Tablets / External HardDisks ?
The Reallocation Shift: Major memory manufacturers like Samsung and Micron have aggressively shifted their production away from standard consumer PC parts to prioritize high-margin AI enterprise orders
Low Inventory: Consumer DRAM and SSDs production has slowed. Bcz supply is artificially tight and demand is surging, component prices are spiking dramatically.
Hence our Laptops and Phones are becoming expensive. Even External Hard Disk prices hv shot up by almost 300% in few months | 331 |
