Netanyahu on Syrian Mount Hermon: ‘We will not allow any terrorist army to establish itself on our border’
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Syrian side of Mount Hermon on Wednesday, accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Tamir Yadai, where they received an operational briefing from senior IDF commanders.
Standing at an IDF outpost overlooking Syria, Netanyahu said Israel had established unprecedented control over the area.
“We control the entire area from the Hermon Crown to the Yarmouk River, and from here to the Mediterranean Sea – absolute control the likes of which has never been seen before,” he said.
“We will not allow any terrorist army to establish itself on our border,” Netanyahu continued, describing Israel’s position in the area as one of the major achievements of the war.
Netanyahu also turned his attention to Iran, saying Israel’s campaign against Tehran was not over. “The main task is to defeat the terrorist regime in Iran. We are very close to it,” he said. “We know that the entire axis will ultimately fall. We are committed to doing this, and we will do it.”

FM Gideon Sa'ar was quoted on X by The Geo-Political Arena as saying: “We are not planning to expel or to deport anyone from the Gaza Strip,” he says during a press conference in the Balkan country of Ljubljana, where Israel is planning to open an embassy.
“If someone wants to immigrate from his own will and there is a country which is ready to accept him,” Sa’ar continued, “as it happens from any conflict area in the world, we will not oppose that.”

According to the report, Netanyahu and bin Zayed spoke for roughly 45 minutes, during which the Emirati president reportedly warned that Yahya Sinwar was planning a significant move that could threaten regional stability and the Abraham Accords.
Netanyahu denied the report, calling it a “malicious fabrication” and saying his office found no record of such a call.

Israeli satellite company ImageSat International (ISI) announced Tuesday that it has developed EROS NOVA, an AI-powered Earth observation platform designed to analyze data from multiple sensors and allow operators to gather and operationalize intelligence in real time, even from thousands of miles away.
The EROS NOVA satellite will capture imagery of objects on Earth’s surface at a native resolution of 25 cm (a little less than 10 in), which the company describes as “very-very-high resolution.”
“EROS NOVA represents the next generation of space-based intelligence, bringing together advanced imaging, multiple sensing capabilities and onboard intelligence in a single satellite platform,” said Noam Segal, CEO of ISI.

The opposition bloc led by Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot is rising in the most recent polls, as the field of parties competing in Israel’s October elections was finalized Tuesday following the deadline for party registration and candidate list submissions.
The latest major poll published Tuesday by Lazar Research/Maariv, projects a possible 61-seat Knesset majority for the opposition, even without the Arab parties.
Despite the maneuvering on the right, most polls still project the Netanyahu bloc to be well short of a majority. According to the Maariv poll, the bloc would win 47 seats, compared with 57 for the opposition, even without the four seats projected for the yet-to-be-named Hendel-Zelekha party.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers overnight, after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted a U.S. Navy warship with ballistic missiles twice over the past two days.
“Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost – taking out three of yours,” Cooper said on Saturday. “We will not hesitate to defend American forces, and if necessary, destroy Iran’s limited and exposed oil fleet.”
However, in response to those IRGC attacks, the U.S. military struck five Iranian tankers after first contacting the ships and instructing the crew to abandon the vessels.

The United Arab Emirates is maintaining complete silence regarding a report published Tuesday by Haaretz claiming that UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed directly warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just days before Oct. 7.
In its first official statement on the matter, the UAE Foreign Ministry said Tuesday evening: “The UAE does not comment on media stories or speculation regarding conversations between leaders. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced Tuesday that Israel will close the British Consulate in Jerusalem and impose additional countermeasures in response to new UK sanctions against Israel. The measures were approved in coordination with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Israel will also remove British representatives from the International Gaza Support Center in Kiryat Gat and end a British program that trains Palestinian Authority forces in Judea and Samaria. In addition, Israel will deny entry to 12 British elected officials and other British nationals accused of antisemitic or anti-Israel activity.
“Unfortunately, a hostile Labour Government is in office, systematically acting against the State of Israel, and it has left us with no choice but to finally respond to its hostile actions,” Sa’ar said. He stressed that Israel has “nothing against the British people,” adding, “We know that we have many friends in Britain.”
Sa’ar accused the British government of imposing sanctions for domestic political reasons ahead of the Labour Party Conference.
