Repost from Grawlee's pamp storage
I kinda urgently need to find some alternatives to the solutions I had on windows when it comes to shading, and whatnot. Anyway here's this
Ok, I get it. I lose the pressure the moment I use my real mouse. hmmmm....
I'm getting close though.
I made CSP work, with my tablet, in proton, with the driver installed in proton and with a linux version installed on mine.
It worked for a few minutes.
Unsure why it stopped but I feel I'm getting very close.
I have not yet taken any steps to install CSP or my tablet on my linux. I've been busy setting up the other things in my system first. Everything I've done so far works though.
All in all I still wanted to take a pause from art anyway lmao
There might be a small delay when I want to get back to it since my KDE really, really wants to keep the default wacom tablet driver (which I need out)
Commissions pause - after this commission
I am not pausing work on my single ongoing commission, but I won't take commissions after for two reasons
- first off I'm getting a job interview and may have to figure out job stuff in the very near future
- Second I'm switching to linux, fully, permanently, on my desktop that does everything from art to games via literally everything in between (dev, very niche modded games, printing, cad and so fucking on), no multiboot, no vm, no refund, missionary, on the bed, against the wall, on the floor, by the fireplace, fox only, no items, final destination.
I planned this for a while and I'm committing. W10 is gonna be EOL, W11 is unacceptable, yada yada nobody cares.
That being said there are multiple aspects that are very finicky/turbo experimental/you might straight up say it just doesn't work.
This includes CSP, sorta. I can't take commissions if I don't know if I can make this piece of shit work under a few weeks. This is not a request to be sent all threads about making CSP run on every distro ever. Believe me, brother, I have seen them all.
In fact I have a LOT of things to work on. proprietary hardware that might require me to find obscure repos that I may have to modify in order to be configured properly, fucking... VR lol (wish me luck), and I'll have to do without a bunch of slopware currently not ported on linux, but that I'm betting will be in the course of a few years (adobe shit, CAD, etc. No, tynach, blender isn't cad and gimp isn't an option)
I could also possibly make it run in one day and resume commissions immediately so that's neither here or there lol
