| 2 | أعوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Holy Qur'ān, Surah Ibrahim
رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ ٤٠
"O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation.

ثم دعا لنفسه ولذريته، فقال: رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
۞ Tafsīr of al-Saʿdī | تفسير السعدي ۞
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ ٤١
"Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established."
( ربنا اغفر لي ولوالدي ) فإن قيل : كيف استغفر لوالديه وهما غير مؤمنين؟ قيل : قد قيل إن أمه أسلمت.
وقيل : أراد إن أسلما وتابا.
وقيل : قال ذلك قبل أن يتبين له أمر أبيه، وقد بين الله تعالى عذر خليله صلى الله عليه وسلم في استغفاره لأبيه في سورة التوبة.
( وللمؤمنين ) أي : اغفر للمؤمنين كلهم ( يوم يقوم الحساب ) أي : يبدو ويظهر. وقيل : أراد يوم يقوم الناس للحساب، فاكتفى بذكر الحساب لكونه مفهوما.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا ٥٦
Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy, etc.) on the Prophet (Muhammad ﷺ) and also His angels too (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad ﷺ), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. AsSalamu 'Alaikum).
Imam Ahmad recorded that Ibn Abi Layla said that Ka

Ujrah met him and said, "Shall I not give you a gift. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and we said,
`O Messenger of Allah! We know how to send Salam upon you, but how can we send Salah' He ﷺ said:

وهذا فيه تنبيه على كمال رسول اللّه صلى اللّه عليه وسلم، ورفعة درجته، وعلو منزلته عند اللّه وعند خلقه، ورفع ذكره. و { إِنَّ اللَّهَ } تعالى { وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ } عليه، أي: يثني اللّه عليه بين الملائكة، وفي الملأ الأعلى، لمحبته تعالى له، وتثني عليه الملائكة المقربون، ويدعون له ويتضرعون. { يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا } اقتداء باللّه وملائكته، وجزاء له على بعض حقوقه عليكم، وتكميلاً لإيمانكم، وتعظيمًا له صلى اللّه عليه وسلم، ومحبة وإكرامًا، وزيادة في حسناتكم، وتكفيرًا من سيئاتكم وأفضل هيئات الصلاة عليه عليه الصلاة والسلام، ما علم به أصحابه: "اللّهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد، وبارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد" وهذا الأمر بالصلاة والسلام عليه مشروع في جميع الأوقات، وأوجبه كثير من العلماء في الصلاة.

| 7 | Sins Distance A Servant From His Angel
From the punishments of sins is: They distance a servant from their ally, and the most beneficial one to them amongst the creatures, the most sincere one towards him and the one whose closeness brings happiness, it is the Angel that has been assigned to you. Through sins, his enemy - who is the most deceitful and most harmful of creatures to him - draws closer, and he is the devil.
Inevitably, if an individual disobeys Allāh, his Angel distances itself to the proportion of the sin to the extent it can distance itself a lengthy amount due to a lie the individual has told.

| 9 |  𝐀𝐡𝐥 𝐚𝐬-𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐢 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
In the year 568H, Imām Ibn Kathīr رحمه الله (d. 774H) mentioned the death of Al-Ḥasan ibn Ṣāfī ibn Bazdan al-Turkī:
"He was one of the prominent leaders in Baghdad who wielded significant power within the state. 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗵.
They remained under his control and dominance until Allah relieved the Muslims of him this year in Dhu al-Hijjah. He was buried at his home and later moved to the cemeteries of Quraysh.
𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵. 𝗨𝗽𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵, 𝗔𝗵𝗹 𝗮𝘀-𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵."

| 11 | Seeking Knowledge Expiates One’s Sins!
Ibn al-Qayyim raḥimahullaah said:
“Seeking knowledge is from the greatest of good deeds, and good deeds cancel out sins. Thus, it is befitting that seeking knowledge for the sake of Allah’s Face should expiate what has preceded from sins.
The textual evidences have indeed indicated that following a sin with a good deed wipes it away, so what then of that which is from the greatest of good deeds and the most noble of acts of obedience?!
And it has been narrated from ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb raḍiyallaahu ʿanhu:
‘Indeed, a man may leave his home while upon him are sins like the mountain of Tihāmah. Then when he hears knowledge, he fears, returns, and repents. So he returns to his home while no sin remains upon him. Therefore, do not separate yourselves from the gatherings of the people of knowledge.’”

﴿ اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْض ۚ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ ۖ
الْمِصْبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍ ۖ الزُّجَاجَةُ كَأَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِن شَجَرَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لَّا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلَا غَرْبِيَّةٍ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ
وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ ۚ
نُّورٌ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ ۗ
يَهْدِي اللَّهُ لِنُورِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ
وَيَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ ۗ
وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴾ ٣٥
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.
The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light.
Allah guides to His light whom He wills.
And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.

In the Hadith recorded by Imam Ahmad from Abdullah bin Amr, who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
﴾ Allah created His creation in darkness, then on the same day He sent His Light upon them.
Whoever was touched by His Light on that day will be guided and whoever was missed will be led astray. Hence I say: the pens have dried in accordance with the knowledge of Allah, may He be glorified.﴿
﴾And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything.﴿
- meaning, He knows best who deserves to be guided and who deserves to be led astray.

فعلمه محيط بجميع الأشياء، فلتعلموا أن ضربه الأمثال، ضرب من يعلم حقائق الأشياء وتفاصيلها، وأنها مصلحة للعباد، فليكن اشتغالكم بتدبرها وتعقلها

| 18 | The Prophet (salallahu ‘alaihi wassallam) said:
“The best fasts after Ramadan are in the month of Allah: Muharram.”
And that is ‘Āshūrā. And the meaning is that he fasted it all, from the first day till the last, from the beginning till the end. This is the meaning of the hadeeth.
However, he specified from this month, the 9th and the 10th day, or the 10th and the 11th day for the one who cannot fast the whole month.
The Prophet (salallahu ‘alaihi wassallam) said:
“Fast the day before it and the day after it.”
And in a wording, there occurs:
“A day before it or a day after it.”
