Key points about IBS paper 6 of CA Final:
- This is a case study based paper. There will be 1 case study of 25 marks with theory questions based on it.
- Case studies will be from real business scenarios like mergers, acquisitions, business strategy, working capital etc.
- The paper will test the ability of students to apply concepts from all subjects like audit, direct tax, indirect tax, law, costing, FM, economics.
- Initially the focus is more on costing as it provides the base. Gradually more concepts from other subjects will be tested.
- The paper intends to test practical application of concepts to solve business problems, not technical knowledge.
- Questions will be application oriented and at a general level, not very technical or advanced.
- The paper will be scoring with about 40% weightage to MCQs. No lengthy computations expected.
- Regular practice of IBS case studies is important for preparation. 7-10 case studies should be sufficient.
- No separate coaching required if students have studied main subjects well already.
IBS paper will test integrated application of concepts to solve business problems through a practical case study based format. Focused preparation by practicing case studies can lead to good scores.

Word of the Day
Bonus Issue
Giving new shares to existing shareholders is called a βbonus issueβ.
Through this, a companyβs total number of shares increase in the markets.
Example: you hold 1 stock of a company and it has announced a 4:1 bonus issue. This means, for your 1 stock, you will get 4 stocks of the same company.
But the value of each stock falls.
If one stock was Rs 10 per share earlier, it will now become Rs 2 (Rs 10/5) since there are 5 stocks in total for the same value.
Hence, your total investment value will still be 5 stocks x Rs 2 price per share = Rs 10 in total.

πPaper Presentation Tips for CA Exams:
π€Presentation Tip No 1- Margin on right side
πͺDraw margin on both side of answer sheet for proper alignment.
πͺ Left side margin should be used for S no of QP and sub parts of a Q.
πͺRight side margin should be used for rough work or other wise can be left blank.
πͺWidth of right side margin should not be too much.
πͺThis helps in proper alignment and if in case answer sheet is torn from end, it won't affect your answer.
πPresentation Tip No 2- Attempt all sub parts together
π― Q1a then 2c then 4c is something which you should avoid.
π―If you dont know any sub part then leave space for that part and move to next Qs making sure that all parts of a Q are in sequence.
π―This helps examiner in evaluation and creates good impression.
πPresentation Tip No 3 Highlight Key words
π‘ Especially in theory answers highlight key pointer
π‘Highlight using same pen and scale or pencil is not required to highlight
