Impuls adalah perubahan momentum I = mv - mu Jisim athlete adalah tak berubah sepanjang activity lompatan. Maka yang mempengaruhi impuls adalah halaju. So, mengurangkan impuls tidak tepat. Athelete membengkokkan kaki nya kerana dia nak manipulate masa pendaratan dengan memangjangkan ‘time of flight’. Bila dia memangjangkan ‘time of flight’ ni, maka daya impuls akan berkurangan. Maka dia boleh mendarat dengan selamat tanpa mengalami kecederaan. So, option mengurangkan daya impuls adalah tepat.
