❗️Writing Task 2
“School teaching should focus on success in the workforce and less attention should be given to academic achievement”
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The skill mismatch between the current educational curriculum and industry demands is a growing concern. Many students graduate without the practical skills and experience that employers seek, hindering their career growth. I totally agree that school education should be better aligned with the job market though I sense the importance of striving for academic brilliance as well.
To begin with, the widening gap between the demands of employers and knowledge provided by teachers at school should be filled by organizing more practical sessions. For example, students can be encouraged to take part in internships job placements on condition that school authorities will provide a certificate for attending. This can be a huge motivator for the employer upon hiring such graduates with belief that they will meet the demands and wishes of the company. If such initiatives are in place, then students graduating schools will have more employment opportunities.
Furthermore, one must acknowledge that workforce is an ever-growing field which evolves alongside the technological changes and modern concepts. If schools cannot go beyond subjects like music, art and math, potential employees will always suffer from a lack of necessary skillset. Thus, current mode of teaching, which is primarily theoretical, should be made more practical. For instance, instead of lecture-based lessons, hands-on sessions should be incorporated. Additionally, more work-related subjects, such as money-management, finance and corporate culture ought to be introduced into the curriculum.
Having said that, academic achievements are no less important than the practical gains for students. Schools provide in-depth knowledge of many different scientific, natural and humanitarian disciplines. A thorough understanding of them is also vitally necessary to have better employment opportunities. As numerous studies have shown that aspiring professionals will be adept at various soft skills, including but not limited to decision-making, critical thinking and problem-solving.
In conclusion, I completely agree with the notion that schools should tailor their content to better prepare students for the conditions of work environment by incorporating practical lessons and revolutionizing the subject selection. However, this does not mean that academic milestones should be ignored in any regard as they are equally complementary.

❗️Writing Task 2 (#3 for roday)
“Nowadays, women and men spend equally on beauty products and cosmetics. This was not so in the past.”
What is the reason behind such behaviors?
What is the effect of it on these individuals?
Hitherto, the common customers for the cosmetics industry have been females. However, the last few years saw a shift in the attitude of men toward beauty treatments, showing almost as equal investments being made as their female counterparts. While the reasons are largely linked with the importance of beauty and growing consciousness of self-care, the effects are emotional drawbacks and high-potential health risks.
Analyzing the factors which led to this shift in behavior, it is important to concede that beauty has become seen as a huge advantage in today’s era. Some people are born beautiful, whilst others need products to beautify themselves. The past perception of men using beauty products was so rigid that it was largely a feminine trait. However, attitudes have altered since then, and now being beautiful with or without make-up grants people the chance to have better opportunities in life; For example, employers hire those who are socially attractive. Moreover, the idea of more beautiful men now means that they take good care of themselves and that they are more health-conscious, so finding a life partner is also facilitated easily. Finally, the power of advertising has been a key factor in the growing popularity of cosmetics among men.
When a man chases beauty by applying special products on their face or going through cosmetic treatment, there are the following effects. The first one adheres to their emotional well-being in a way that makes them feel a lacking in their natural beauty. As a result, when the temporary effect of make-up disappears, they may feel emotionally unhealthy. The next one is connected with their physical health. Cosmetics are known to have various side-effects, such as triggering allergy, and creating skin-related issues or even skin cancer. Considering that skin-care products and therapies are often expensive, this may also lead to a financial strain as well. Reportedly, men in South Korea spend over half of their salary on cosmetics every month.
Nevertheless, not all impacts are negative as there are many other positive effects of using cosmetics. The fact that one uses beauty treatments should not come around as only applying some chemical creams which destroy the natural synthesis of the skin. There are many benevolent products, which are used to clean the face, and let it breathe air better. This kind of care makes men seem health-conscious and have overall healthier face.
In conclusion, indeed the use of beauty products has increased among men lately. The reasons for this are the shift away from the conservative way of thinking and growing field of cosmetology. The effects are negative and positive, depending on how they use the cosmetics.

❗️ Writing Task 2
“Some people are of the opinion that robots are imperative for the future development of human beings. Whereas some others think that robots have negative effects on society.”
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
The field of robotics is the one where a lot of wonders are being found. So much so that we are starting to align our future with robots. In fact, there is a notion that robots are indispensable companions for future human existence. However, others disagree by saying that there are many negative consequences of robots. In my personal opinion, robots are positive by and large, except for certain social concerns.
Let us focus on those negatives that could pervade our lives, were robots commonly used in our lives. Justifiably, the idea of using robots at workplace is a big anathema to working class as it would mean that they will be jobless. In fact, the mass popularity of AI is rumored to take out 70% of the people’s manual job, including teachers, bank officials and others. This would certainly lead to an increase in crime, such as theft and burglary – as a result of poverty. Moreover, another problem arising from robots would be seen in the increasing rate of obesity, particularly among women. For example, self-steering vacuum cleaners, dishwashers and so on would mean the avoidance of physical activity for these people.
Nevertheless, the idea that robots are more positive than negative is shared by many, including myself. First optimistic aspect of robots is that they will replace much of the manual labor people have to do, so they can focus on other tasks which are more important or urgent. For example, if a person has a robot babysitter to take of their baby, they can go to work and continue earning money. These are the benefits on an individual level, let us now take a broader look at the capabilities of machines. They are the non-stop productivity and the pinpoint accuracy with which they comply their assignments. Some restaurants and cafes in Japan can be a good example here, whose robotic hostesses always welcome new guests with a smile, or with always-polite waiters and waitresses. Real people can easily make mistakes in such scenarios, due to physical and mental tiredness. However, while rest is an important factor to real people at work, robot workers do not need days-off and they can even work on national holidays.
In conclusion, there is a tussle between two sections of people; while one says robots are the future, others are more pessimistic by saying that they are harmful. My conviction is that despite several social drawbacks such unemployment and health issues, robots bring many benefits to our lives, by giving us the chance to multitask, and for companies to be more productive.

“In recent years, there has been a rise in the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports.”
What are the consequences of doping for athletes?
What measures should be taken to combat this issue?
Making sure that athletes are clean is crucially important to ensure a safe and fair competition in the world of sport. However, the number of athletes giving themselves an unfair advantage over their rivals by using performance enhancing drugs has become increasingly common. While there are mixed effects for the PED users, I believe that there should be established more sophisticated testing systems to detect the cheaters.
The impacts of using PED’s means that the sportsperson is not on a level-playing field, and there are the following repercussions. First of all, the condition of being flagged with positive test results for steroids – performance enhancers – is abhorred by the sport community, extending beyond fellow sportspeople and fans. As a result, this tarnishes the athlete’s career moving forward, limiting their opportunity of attending further competitions and making them unable to earn income. Here of course, for a proud athlete, being labelled as a cheater can be more traumatic than the inability to earn money. Outside of that, there are immense health problems of using PED’s as well, often resulting in the damage of DNA, hormonal imbalances and behavioral abnormalities. Those suffering from these syndromes turn out to be more violent and socially unstable ones. Perhaps, the best case in point would be certain fighters from combat sports organizations, who have tested positive for banned substances.
Nevertheless, there are several strategies to prevent athlete’s from using prohibited pharmaceuticals to win dishonestly. The primary one is to set up accredited drug-testing agencies or better known as anti-doping agencies. To illustrate such one successful program, known as USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency), which is used to test the fighting athletes in the UFC (one of world’s biggest combat sport promotions) and boxing. This program has proven to be extremely effective with their procedures, and has successfully identified numerous cheaters. Another way to address this issue is to have harsher punishments for the offenders. For instance, sport regulating authorities should increase the period of suspension, say from one year to four years, as well as the amount of financial penalty.
To conclude, indeed there is a rightful concern over the increasing number of PED users in sports. The potential consequences are tarnishing of one’s reputation and long-term health problems. The efforts to tackle this issue can be achieved by establishing strict testing agencies and imposing heavier legal as well as financial punishments.

✅Part 3 – 7 questions.
1.What are the differences between painting and drawing?
The main distinction between the two lies in the material and techniques used. While painting involves using pigments, like watercolors, acrylics or oils to a surface by using palette knives, paintbrushes or other tools. In the case of drawing, however, completely different spectrum of tools is utilized. Instead of oil brushes or knives, pencils, pens, markers or charcoal are used. Also, drawing focuses on contour, line, and shading, while painting produces a greater range of colors, texture and depth.
2.Why do people keep some paintings for a long time?
For a range of different purposes! First and foremost, for memorial purposes. I mean if the painting is, let’s say, a present given by a friend or other people, the receiver is likely
to keep it for a long time because it means something to them. Another explanation could be the sheer interest of a person in collecting things like paintings as a pastime activity (hobby). Last not but not least, paintings, especially of the nature, wildlife, tradition, famous places can be a perfect home decoration.
3.Does the design of the building influence people’s mood or affect people?
I believe that the architecture certainly has an impact on our mental well-being. For example, the wrong choice of color on the inside of the rooms can suffocate people and make them feel bad and oppressed. Also, if the rooms are wider, the ceiling is taller, as a result, the inhabitants are likely to feel more free in such designed buildings. Another fact I should mention is that better facilities, such the correct layout of staircases, placement of exterior windows for better air circulation, presence of emergency exits make the building feel safer, more comfortable and technological.
4.What types of art do people in your country like?
Wooow! I don’t know much about it I have to tell you. However, our people are crazy about handicrafts, such as jewellery, carving and painting. Apart from that my countrymen are interested in decorating their rooms walls with their favorite choice of paintings, caricature, portraiture, calligraphy in large frames, which give them strong energy, good hope, inspiration and collection of memories. So, these are some forms of art in which our people are interested.
5.What kinds of art are the most valuable in terms of monetary value?
Painting, without a doubt! I often keep hearing the skyrocketing prices being offered for paintings put on audition. Just to give you an example, I can recall the selling of Salvador Mundi painted by Lionardo Da Vinci, with an estimated price of around 450 million dollars. It is incredible how expensive these paintings, which are absolutely nothing but a fabric and frame to those who don’t know the core value of art, can go! Second comes historical artefacts, for example the crown of ancient emperors, rings they wore, blades they used in battles, hats they wore. Just a fresh example, Napaleon Bonapard’s hat was sold on audition at 2.1 million dollars.
6.Would you say art is important?
I always say this if art was of no value, it wouldn’t be kept or priced like in the abovementioned examples. I believe that through preservation of art, nations can safely pass their culture and traditions onto the next generations. After all is said and done, it is something that is used as a pathway to reminding future generations of the past. Outside of that, art is so versatile and can be used for other purposes such as entertainment as well. So, it has a sacred place in society, I believe.

#Part3 Sports – 5 questions
What is the main difference between watching sports at home and at the stadium?
Well, to me the chief difference between the two experiences lies in the atmosphere. I mean when you, for example, watch football matches at the stadium, or spectate ringside when a boxer is defending his title in his hometown, this is a truly a unique experience. The fans chanting, beating on their drums as often witnessed during football tournaments and the live reactions all contribute to a deeper level of sensation. However, watching at home can give a viewer a much more tranquil experience, so the emotion and sensation may not be as deep.
2. What can be done to get children into sport?
This can be achieved in multiple different ways. One of the surefire ways is for parents to kindle interest in their offspring early on, so when they grow up, they will realize the significance of doing sports. Another strategy to effectively persuade kids to take up sports would be to lead by example, again I am talking about the parental influence. Look. If parents themselves live a sport-based lifestyle, the likelihood of their children doing sports will be higher, for sure. During school holidays, or days-off, parents should take their kids to live sporting events. When the young see athletes in incredible physical condition, get prizes and look healthy overall, I don’t think there is any more to do to persuade them, this is enough of a motivation.
3. Which sport do you think most people like to do?
I would assume, the general preference for the majority of people is to play football. The immediate ability and opportunity to do this activity makes it such a popular game among almost all ages. And there are so many other features of football that make it a very playable game, such as higher level of participation, team-work, unity (because some people, especially working people nowadays gather in the artificial pitch just for the sake of meeting and talking, and football is an excuse). For girls, I would probably say that volleyball and tennis are two of the most preferred sport types.
4. What are the benefits of sports for children?
I can say it with a strong conviction that sport is just as equal as education in life. Doing sport is beneficial on so many levels. First, those who do sports on a regular basis tend to prioritize healthy lifestyle, eat the right food and sleep the right amount, abstain from bad habits such as smoking, drinking and others. Well, I am not claiming that every sport doer meets this criterion, but on a general level, this is the case. These benefits are the ones everybody knows about, now let me tell you the ones many don’t know about. Sport is an activity which fosters optimism in us, when through overcoming hard times and adversities in sport, athletes take this philosophy that you can overcome any obstacle life throws at you. In one word, it improves qualities like resilience and perseverance in us in my book.
5. Do children need to exercise?
Absolutely! They have to be involved in any kind of physical activity, or else they will grow up to be soft, and from a paradoxical point of view, life is hard. All the above-mentioned attributes sport gives people are a clear reason why everyone, regardless of their age, should purse sport. However, we can’t get all children to do sports, and it is okay. This matches the predator-prey ratio, those who do sports will always hunt down those don’t do any. I can talk about the health benefits of sport for hours and hours, but the main important this here should be directed at its main role.

The table gives information about the elderly population of three different countries for 1988, 2000 and prediction for 2030.
Looking from an overall perspective, while Germany had and will have the highest percentage of over 65ers in its population, the UK is expected to continue to have the smallest proportion by comparison. Meanwhile, the Canadian figure lies in between those mentioned above.
In 1988, the German share for the population of people aged 65 and over stood at 20.45%. This, then, increased to 25.32% twelve years later. Future estimates show that there will be a further increase in this figure to over 30% by 2030. By contrast, UK showed a lower percentage of such population at 14.23% in the initial year, which showed a negligible rise of 0.66% in 2000. Even though, UK’s share is expected to grow to around 20% in the future, it will still be 6% south of the Canadian indication in 2030.
