Don’t Use Normal Strategies in Abnormal Markets Since the "Tariffs" hit headlines, IV surged. Tariff news comes anytime Trump tweets. This kind of headline risk is unpredictable, so I adjusted my strategi\es to be extra careful. 3. Earnings this week ~ One of the most common strategy for is calendar spreads where the trader sells the short term options and buy a longer term one. The key idea is to earn on volatility crush after earnings is released.
