1. Quant I used to be a 100% value based investor, but quantitative research had given me such a huge boost that I cannot ignore it. - Only invest/ trade on strategies with Backtested Results that shows Positive Expected Payoff. Essentially, I am the "House" (Casino), not the gambler when I only participate in games which data shows that i will have high probability of winning. 2. Sizing is Everything. I have seen, in a group of investors investing in similar strategies and assets, we can have very different results. The key is sizing! Position Sizing not only can help us win optimally, it can help us lose logically. If you study into Kelly Criterion, it will also be a lot easier on your mind to see losses as the entire part of the winning formula.

[Market This Week - 30 Dec] Hey Tribe, Last Friday, the market dipped without any specific trigger, despite overall positive economic data: GDP: Q3 2024 grew 3.1%, driven by consumer spending, exports, and federal investments. Unemployment: Stable at 4.2% as of November 2024. Inflation: Slight uptick to 2.7% in November, still below the historical average. Interest Rates: FED reduced rates to 4.25%-4.50%, projecting 3.9% by late 2025. Consumer Spending: Increased 3.7% annually from July to September, boosting GDP growth. True Wealth this Christmas Hey Tribe, 2 weeks ago I met with a Billion Dollar wealth manager, Chris Tan (CEO of Providend). From the meeting, I felt very inspired as he made me think about the concept of wealth. This is an article that he wrote for Christmas and I felt it is reallt insightful and made me think if I am doing enough for this Tribe in terms of building towards True Wealth. [Don't Surf after an Tsunami] Hey SIC, I will be sitting on the side and observing the markets for the next 2 days. But here's my overall view 1. Economic data is overall positive and hence FED is concern about this bringing up inflation hence decided to slow down the cutting of the Rates. 2. What this means to me is that the market is over reacting and not making sense. 3. My action will be to relook / review shopping list, ready to load up value stocks when the dust settle. 4. Why not NOW? Whatever my analysis, we market dip may have cascading effects and may trigger more than just a stock market react, - I personally think it is unlikely. Like how is a slowing down in cutting interest rate affecting your business or your daily lives, i dont think there is much effect in the short run, but i reserve my rights to be wrong! Conclusion - chill, no 0 DTEs, no trades, sit on side lines and observe the ripples from the Tsunami, while ready to enter I am actually hoping market wil drop more until early next year... Market dropped by nearly 3% This is due to projection of lesser rate cuts next year. A number of my positions got stopped out on trailing stop and I took nice profits. Think about it... 2 years ago,I embarked on starting up my own hedge fund after many request from the tribe members to help them invest. 

It is taking a long time as I am doing a lot of research and the setting of of a fund has multiple compliance issues. 

While doing my research, I recently met into a young Quant Fund Manager who made more than 200% in a year for the past 3 years.
