As always, I can't stay away from Speckle. This time, they are back with new updates rather than empty hands:
Speckle 2.20 is here! The latest release of our connectors is bringing you cool improvements, bug fixes, and new features across multiple platforms. Today's spotlight is on the #Archicad connector news: ✅Openings are now supported! ✅We updated the connector icon under the Interoperability dialog on Mac. (doesn't it look so much better now? 😍) ✅Added application icon to the #Speckle connector. When you use Command+Tab, you’ll see the Speckle icon instead of a generic terminal icon. ✅Added default version message. If you keep it empty, it adds the number of elements + Archicad version in the version message. Go ahead, try it out! 👉 https://lnkd.in/db2nrvYA

Very interesting publication from Michael Egan. I was reading from his new post on LinkedIn:
After finding that our #QGIS AI Vectorizer was 2 times faster than digitizing a geologic map by hand, we were curious how it compares on aerial imagery. In a side-by-side test on the same lake, the AI was again 2 times faster than digitizing by hand! The video shows the test, sped up 20 times original speed: Top: AI Vectorizer plugin Bottom: Manual digitization It took 13 minutes and 39 seconds to digitize the lake with AI, compared to 27 minutes and 17 seconds to digitize by hand. And, the AI was more accurate than the manual digitization. The AI wasn’t perfect though, and still required manual intervention when shade covered the edge of the lake. Even so, the shift key made it easy to manually intervene and return to AI digitization once I got past the shade. This is exactly the moment when the hype around AI is shifting towards practical actions. In my opinion, such applications of AI have very good prospects. What do you think?

For those who are unfamiliar with this new solution from Autodesk, here is a video, and here's a separate article that explains in detail what it is, how to use it, and why this catalog is useful.
804
Autodesk has rolled out a new tool called Content Catalog, designed to streamline BIM content management for architecture, engineering, and construction (AECO) firms. This cloud-based solution aims to centralize the storage, versioning, and access to digital assets like Revit families, all within one platform. It's particularly useful for companies looking to establish and maintain organization-wide standards.
Key features include a robust search system, automatic file upgrades to the latest Revit versions, and flexible user access controls. However, it’s currently only available to those storing data in the US, with plans to expand to other regions in the future.
If you're already using Autodesk Docs, this tool might be worth exploring. It promises to simplify content management and boost efficiency, especially for larger firms needing a centralized approach.
