9. I couldn’t commit to a Paradise Portfolio – our One Day Zakat Class that we hold every year – unfortunately. But what I will try to do is before the middle of Ramadhan, we’ll do a live video session in our Telegram group and we can do a Q&A on all the things you need to know about. 10. It's not cheap though folks, and it’s also not simple to join, you need to have your wits about you to keep the costs down through a guided flight purchase plan with DST, who will walk you through it. This is being done to basically avoid being taken further advantage of by the airlines who are already taking mental liberties with their pricing of group tickets in advance. So if you can afford the cost and can start saving for it, and more importantly afford to take off the time, then I will tell you that you’ll never appreciate anything so much afterwards alhamdulillah. So for the foreseeable future, despite how successful the ‘Umrah and Aqsa Tarbiyyah Programs have been, I just cannot find the extra time off of work to keep up the same levels, even though they are without doubt the best use of my time right now in terms of results and development of all those who join them mA. I’ve recently taken a new work position too which means I have to be even more judicious with my time. Hence I will have to reduce a few da‘wah projects, and the Tarbiyyah Program will now be offered on lesser occasions compared to normal. The final Aqsa program for 2023 (which I think is just the single best under-a-week-long experience you will ever have) will be on the 28th of September, and the next ‘Umrah program will be on the 5th of October 2023. The next Aqsa program after that will be in Ramadhan 2024, and the next ‘Umrah Tarbiyyah Program will be the UK school holidays in December 2023 iA. Can’t even fully 100% commit to that one yet either but I am hopeful. Ya’ni 60%. So at least we have something for singles and families and I can go to sleep at night knowing I didn’t skank anyone. 6. Please remember the LP team during Ramadhan for your sadaqah. We need to get some more funds in as costs increase to try and get the app and site up to standard – let me take this opportunity to personally thank all of you regulars donors who have kept us going this far, may Allah jalla wa ‘ala accept it from you and give you Jannah – but if you haven’t signed a standing order that pays a little bit every month (definitely the preferred method if you can!) then please consider doing so here, or at the very least if you’re feeling generous during these holy times then even a single donation will help iA. I don’t like to spam folks every month for donations like every organisation seems to do, and we’re not skint or anything, but we need to get back on the right side of things if you’ve got spare cash in Ramadhan. 7. Sh Ahsan Hanif has released a great initiative called ISNAD which is a program where you study classical texts over the weekend, with each text being read out loud in Arabic and English with its brief commentary. The idea is to complete texts fluently and regularly, allowing students to connect to traditional sources; they are done in a swift way with already ten books being completed such as Birr al-Walidayn of al-Bukhari, Kitab al-‘Ilm of Abu Khaythamah and Kitab al-Iman of Ibn Abi Shaybah. This weekend for example Sh Ahsan will be covering the Shama’il of Imam al-Tirmidhi and it should be finished as well, so how’s that for professionalism mA! Another one from Sh Ahsan: he will also be continuing his Tafsir al-Sa‘di during Ramadhan, which has been going on for 3 years, starting this time with Surah al-Anbiya’, every single day after Dhuhr and you can join on the Green Lane Masjid Youtube Channel which can be accessed here and is something I would recommend for those who have the time.

So I think it’s about mighty time I gave some updates on what’s what and what’s not, especially as there are some really important things that need to be mentioned. Yalla let’s go: 1. Tomorrow Wednesday 15th March is our final LP lesson, to be held at 8:20pm online UK time! I know it feels like a very short year, but as Maysa reliably informs me, we have done the same or less lessons previously in an academic year on at least 3 occasions so I don’t feel too bad. =) But it does need addressing that the year is finishing earlier, and the new year is starting late as usual in September and something has to give. So keep an eye on the Telegram group (you all should have joined the announcement channel here and the chat one here so we don’t have to keep flippin’ paying Mailmonkey or whatever they’re called to send these updates by email!) because we might make a change to the lessons schedule possibly this year but more likely for the new academic year iA. QP still has two lessons to go so next week’s lesson will be the final one. 2. If you didn’t hear already, I finally released the biggest project I’ve ever worked on: Divine Link – The Fiqh of Salah. You’ve probably seen some clips and parts from the class released on social media recently, it’s something I highly advise you to sign up for and you get lifetime access to it. I think, no I know you will love the experience and all the extras etc, so don’t hesitate and do yourself and your family a favour and join here. This class closes in TWO DAYS meaning you won’t be able to join it anymore after that. As for those who join before the deadline, you get lifetime access and our first live Q&A session is this Thursday evening iA. To be honest, it’s a no-brainer for LP students; the real thing you need to be doing is to ensure you force all your friends and family to do the same especially because they don’t want to, or if you’re feeling proper religious then gift it to them so that you make more sadaqah jariyah than you could have ever imagined lol. I mean, instead of that perfume you were gonna get them or some other trinkets bakwas, get them something they and their families will actually benefit from and quite possibly even enjoy as well! If you had intended to go and you’ve not registered yet, you will most probably miss out because the quota for the West has been reduced again. Be warned! 4. Those who have been in the LP Telegram group and those around me know how I’ve been waxing lyrical how incredible the 3 Sacred Cities Program was last year and that the next one promises to be even better. Well it’s finally live alhamdulillah. =) The website editor wrote it is the ultimate and most enjoyable experience that we have. Well I’d add for this year 2023, it’s the most luxurious as well considering the hotels that Dar El Salam have been able to secure, but listen: this program isn’t about the luxury. It’s about being the most spiritual and studious program I’ve ever been able to put forward and execute in the time frame available of 18 days. Yes that’s a long time for folks to get off, but I can promise you one thing indeed I swear by it: you will not regret doing it, and it will be the best trip of your life, basically all the highs of our Hajj program without living through the missions of ihram for five days lol.
