KRAKEN-G is released on XDA for all the supported devices and it's a forced update from every other older KRAKEN (GSIs and TouchWiz builds). The main difference between a TouchWiz and GSI build is that the TouchWiz one has MTP enabled, while the GSI build doesn't due to the fact GSIs don't support MTP. MTP is a SAMSUNG related thing. Now on KRAKEN-G! KRAKEN-G is probably the most stable KRAKEN build, in this build the buggy clock timer got fixed and also buggy and slow bluetooth audio was fully adressed. KRAKEN-G will provide you with the needed performance and great experience on any ROM. I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who flashed and tested this project since day 1. I would also like to note that KRAKEN-G might be the last available kernel image (there is a chance, I won't be able to develop anymore). As many of you know, I don't own a single device with Exynos 7870 SoC. so doing something new takes a lot of time, testing and tons of resources. I won't be able to commit anything new and refreshing without spending a lot of time, which soon I won't have. Sadly for me and you University is about to hit me pretty hard and probably KRAKEN will be updated monthly with some small changes or it will just be discontinued. As of now I don't have any idea how it will end, but anyway it was a pleasure and super fun to experiment and do new stuff with all of you! An update regarding how we are going to flash the coming Treble. Previously we heavliy relied on "gsi_patch" in order to resolve safetynet , boot and camera issues. among some others In the new vendor/kernel combo we are introducing a new way to do that. coded by @corsicanu. Spaget init script The script will do the following tasks :- - correct device Fingerprint based on vendor (For Google certification and SafetyNet bypass) - correct device codename and model info - fix Powerhal issue common in GSIs (Which causes bootloops on most GSIs) - apply native camera patches and possibly others from within the vendor) This script will run once on each GSI installation. and it will be seamless with no user interaction needed. Flash Vendor once + Flash How many number of GSI you want. and the script will take care of patching it for you.
