Last Thursday, we celebrate a special day for a very special person in the KTP and THK family – Ms. Lim Nguan Lian, fondly known as Nanny.
For over 23+ years, Ms. Lim has been a key pillar of KTP, shaping our journey with her dedication and invaluable contributions.
From the early days of our firm to where we are now, her role in nurturing client relationships and driving market development has been instrumental in our growth.

| 3 | (Tax Update) Dividend Income in Malaysia: What Changed and What It Means for You (Part 2)
The Malaysian government’s 2025 Budget introduced a 2% tax on dividend income exceeding RM100,000, impacting both resident and non-resident shareholders.
For example, if a taxpayer earns RM250,000 in dividends, only RM150,000 is taxable after the RM100,000 exemption. After calculating against total income, the 2% tax results in RM2,940. (It is not simple as you think. Please read the illustration in our blog as below)
Exemptions apply to foreign dividends (till YA 2036), pioneer status profits, and distributions from specific funds and trusts & more
Unresolved questions for the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) include whether limited liability partnerships are taxed, how timing affects taxation, eligibility for non-resident exemptions, and requirements for dividend vouchers.

| 7 | AI Training Over Zoom: Fumbles & Lessons
Last Friday, I took on the nerve-wracking task of hosting an AI training session over Zoom for my colleagues.
If you've ever found yourself fumbling through screen sharing, toggling between tabs, and muttering “OMG” under your breath, you’ll relate to my experience.
Let me tell you—it wasn’t smooth sailing, but it was absolutely worth it.
The session revolved around exploring AI tools and frameworks to enhance our technical knowledge and daily workflows.
My focus? Practical applications.
We started with the Co-Star Framework for crafting precise AI prompts—think of it as setting the stage for a productive AI dialogue. From there, I introduced Perplexity, a tool for navigating complex information with ease, and Google Notebook LLM, a promising resource for managing large datasets and summaries.
Next, I showcased ChatGPT 4.0 Canvas, perfect for creating structured visual outputs, followed by Copilot, an AI assistant to accelerate coding and drafting processes. Wrapping up, I couldn’t leave out Claude, known for its ability to generate natural, human-like interactions.
Each tool served a purpose: researching technical challenges, summarizing key insights, and seamlessly applying them to work.
Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room—my nerves.
First the mic is not working. Fumbling between PC to notebook eventually.
Screen sharing turned into screen staring as I scrambled to find the right window (who else has 5 tabs open during Zoom?).
A few hiccups later, I found my rhythm. My colleagues were patient, thankfully, and by the end of 45 minutes, the awkward moments were forgotten.
Looking back, I realized the training was not about perfection but about sharing knowledge and empowering others.
AI tools can feel overwhelming at first, but with a clear framework and practical guidance, they can become a powerful extension of our skills.
Next may be I can teach my colleagues API and Phyton as I am currently learning.

| 13 | Amy First Rock Climbing Jolly Fun Experience
Hi Mr. Koh Teck Peng. Amy here. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try indoor rock climbing for the first time with my colleagues.
At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be much more fun and rewarding than I imagined. The climbing gym we visited had a variety of walls with different difficulty levels, so there was something for everyone.
The staff were really friendly and took time to explain the equipment and safety procedures, which made me feel much more comfortable.
As a beginner, I was nervous, especially looking at the climbing wall. But once I started, I quickly realized that rock climbing isn’t just about strength — it’s about technique, balance, and carefully planning each move.
With the support and encouragement from my colleagues, like Adda and Nadhirah, I felt motivated to keep going even when I faced challenges.
The experience was physically and mentally more demanding than I expected. I was surprised by how many muscles I used, especially in my arms, legs, and core.
The next day, I definitely felt sore, but in a good way! Mentally, it was also challenging, requiring focus and problem-solving.
What made the day even more special was the fun and laughter we shared as a group.
Whether we were laughing off mistakes or cheering each other on, the atmosphere was light and positive.
No one was worried about being perfect; we were just enjoying the experience together.
Looking back, I’m really glad I tried rock climbing. It pushed me in ways I didn’t expect, and it was a great way to connect with my colleagues outside of work.
I’m already looking forward to the next session, and maybe next time, I’ll reach the top! That's all from me.

这是我第一次参加公司组织的活动，这次是攀岩活动。当我得知有这样的活动时，心情既兴奋又紧张。兴奋的是.
这是我第一次参加公司的团建活动，能与同事们一起体验新鲜的活动，感觉非常期待；而紧张的是，我担心自己可能会受伤，毕竟攀岩对身体的要求比较高。
但是当我到达攀岩场后，专业的教练首先给我们做了详细的安全培训，教我们如何正确使用各种攀岩器械，还介绍了这里有许多种不同的攀岩方式。
有的是带有安全绳的传统攀岩，也有不带绳索的自由攀岩。教练的讲解让我放下了心中的一些顾虑，我也开始有信心去尝试。
在我第一次尝试攀岩时，才发现这项运动对臂力的要求远远超过我的想象。刚开始爬的时候，我就感觉到双臂越来越吃力。
教练让我们尝试在攀爬过程中放开一只手，然后再一起放开，目标是通过改变身体的重心来降低对臂力的消耗。我做好了心理准备，才鼓起勇气去尝试。
虽然过程非常艰辛，我也经历了许多恐惧和不安，但当我终于成功地完成了降落时，心中充满了成就感。
之后，我又挑战了15米高的攀岩墙。这一挑战更是对我的臂力和意志力的双重考验。在爬升的过程中，我不断地告诉自己：“一定可以的！”每当手臂酸痛、体力耗尽时，我都会提醒自己坚持下去，不能放弃。最终，在不懈的努力和坚持下，我成功地完成了这次挑战。
整个过程中，我不仅突破了自己的身体极限，还锻炼了自己的毅力和心理素质。
这次攀岩活动让我收获了很多，不仅增强了我的身体素质，也让我更加相信自己在面对困难时可以坚持到底，克服挑战。这次活动真的非常难忘，

Our recent KTP rock-climbing event wasn’t just a test of physical strength but also a fantastic learning experience.
With guidance from Mr. Koh Teck Peng, I learned that climbing isn’t just about reaching the top; it’s about technique, patience, and smart moves. He showed us how to use our legs, balance our weight, and trust the holds.
After a few shaky starts, I finally made it higher than I expected, thanks to my team’s support and Mr. Koh’s tips.
It was a thrilling experience, filled with laughter, teamwork, and a sense of accomplishment.
Looking forward to our next adventure—who knows what heights we’ll reach together!
