UPDATE: as of 14:00 Moscow time At the moment, there are no convincing signs of a decrease in temperature and solar wind speed. The slight decrease in the value of the Kp index (now about G3 versus G4 two hours ago β shown in the graph above) is ephemeral and is only due to the fact that the interplanetary magnetic field is temporarily turned in a northerly direction, in which it suppresses the development of magnetic storms. As soon as it turns back, at least for a short time, the index will jump back to the G4 level and resume attempts to break through the G5 threshold. As already noted, in the next couple of hours, according to the initial calculations, the bulk of the ejection should come or not, since so far the Earth is hit by almost "empty" tubes of the field, and it is completely unclear where all the mass that flew away from the Sun yesterday is located.
