#ThankYouPMLee 💙 Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has been an inspiration to us all at UWEEI. As the Chairman of UWEEI’s Council of Advisors from 1985 to 2004, PM Lee was steadfast in his commitment to Singapore’s workforce – including our UWEEI members – which significantly impacted their lives. He saw first-hand how the electronics industry was constantly evolving and championed for our workers to grow in tandem with these changes and seize new opportunities. Schemes such as the Skills Redevelopment Programme (which helped train over 7,730 members in the late 90s to early 00s) is just one example of the many programmes and policies rolled out during his tenure as Prime Minister. These directly impacted our workers by uplifting them, creating new opportunities for them and improving their quality of life and work. This commitment shone through in his leadership of Singapore through good and challenging times. 💪 #YouWeTogether #UWEEITogether

As Singapore's hot weather continues to heat up in 2024 ☀️ , the rise in temperatures put workers, especially those working outdoors, at an increased risk of heat stress. For work to continue in a safe manner, MOM had published enhanced measures to reduce heat stress to protect outdoor workers ✅ .
