The tree signifies the only setting in the play since the tramps
pass the time waiting by it . It divides the play into Two halves
and in this case we realize the passing of time through it ( at
the beginning it was bare but later on a few leaves grew on it )
When Vladimir and Estragon decide to hang themselves , they
turn to the tree but failed to do so since its branches are not
strong enough . The tree could stand for life .lt also can be
used as a landmark for the tramps so that they do not go
a stray as they wait for Godot .
