SPOM update
ICAI has started releasing tenders asking outside companies to provide technical infrastructure to conduct online exams and inviting CAs to contribute questions for SPOM. Few insights for students-
1. Exam to be held in an exam center through computer based test (CBT) online in mcq format.
2. There will be two slots 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm in metros. In non metros only 1 slot.
3. Exams will be held throughout the year (daily ideally). Students can choose their own date and slot.
4. Law & SCMPE Exam will be of 3 hrs while set C & D will be of 2 hrs.
5. No reading time in papers will be given
6. One can take the exam multiple times till he/she clears.
7. Prescribed no of hrs for lectures must be completed first through digital learning hub. All tracking to be done through SSP.
8. Format of Paper-
Set A- Law:
All ques case scenario/case study (CS) based & compulsory. 2-5 MCQ in each case study. Each mcq 2 marks.
Co law (50 marks) - 7 cases. 25 mcq.
Sec law (20marks)- 3 cases. 10 mcq.
Eco law(30 marks)- 5 cases. 15 mcq.
Set B- SCMPE:
All ques case scenario based & compulsory. All mcq worth 2 marks each.
Section A (48 marks)- 4 cases-6 mcq each
Section B (32 marks)- 4 cases-4 mcq each
Section C (20 marks)- 2 cases-3 mcq each AND 2 cases-2 mcq each.

A good paper to sign-off Nov 23 Exams and the last attempt under present syllabus.
IDT Paper: Easy and scoring. Straightforward Questions and mostly from expected areas. Probably the paper to give you the aggregate score in Group 2 after Paper 6.
Good luck to those who wrote the exams for the results.

Those who have exemptions in Paper 6, please utilise the time well for DT and IDT. You will not get better opportunity to maximize your scoring opportunities for these two papers.

Law Paper :
Good questions from untested and newer areas. Also, certain questions from easy topics which one would usually skip.
If prepared well - Above average, if not, Average paper.
MCQs - Easy to Average.

Audit Paper :
Descriptive part is scoring and majorly a standards based paper as expected. Company Audit (all areas), Standards and PE determine how the paper is.
If you've revised the above well - it is above average if not, an average paper. Though scoring opportunities are there.
