Characteristics of a successful manager
1. The ability to understand the importance of events without being influenced by the opinions and beliefs of those around him or being caught up in personal prejudices.
2. The ability to make decisions and act without being diverted from the main path and goal due to side risks.
3. Responsibility or readiness to face and fight problems. This is very closely related to decision-making and decisiveness, because the person who accepts responsibility must have the necessary decision-making power in order to be able to make a decision that is in the interests of the organization. In addition, the manager must accept responsibility for the consequences of his decisions.
4. Organizational power. If the manager uses efficient tools in their appropriate places. Many organizational problems will be solved by themselves.
5. Anthropology or the ability to recognize the people who work with him. It is in the light of this recognition that the manager's behavior towards employees is formed.
6. Motivation with enthusiasm and desire to do the work or tasks entrusted to him. Such a manager can create the necessary motivation in his employees.
7. The ability to work for long periods of time without feeling tired. In fact, according to what is said about motivation, most employees change their own behavior based on the manager's behavior and emulate the manager in how they work.
8. Self-confidence means accepting that one has power and can rely on it to solve one's own and organization's problems. In other words, one knows oneself correctly, is aware of one's abilities, and for this reason, knows and can make the right decisions in dealing with various situations and is not afraid of this decision.
9. Emotional maturity or the ability to control one's emotions and feelings whenever necessary. We consider a manager to have emotional maturity who reveals his feelings after analyzing the situation.
10. Having the necessary latitude to enjoy the views of colleagues, especially subordinates. In fact, one of the desirable qualities of a manager is to consult with experts on the issues that are necessary and make decisions based on their reasonable views.
11. The power of decision-making and calculated decisiveness in work. Decisiveness means that whenever it becomes clear to the manager that doing something is in the interest of the organization, he does not hesitate to do it.
12. Fair judgment about subordinates. The manager should consider prejudging each employee with the existing conditions.
13. Pioneering or having the power of management. Be a personality who takes the lead in doing things and leads subordinates to do the work by proposing and presenting new values.
14. Has the power to coordinate and create balance and alignment between the activities of different members of the organization. Accordingly, first, it must be ensured that subordinates are loyal to the organization and their work so that they can be successful in coordinating them;
15. Possessing the characteristic of creativity and entrepreneurship. At the beginning of any work and activity, innovation is a requirement for activity.
And finally, because managers spend their time and energy doing things that their employees can also do; as a result of this, the cost of doing the work increases and consequently productivity decreases, so the only solution to such problems is delegation. π #Tip_of_the_day
