Question 6 In the meantime I have "Speech is Golden", which is the name of your first studio album. What I already noticed after a short time are the different, polyphonic vocals and different styles. From classic oldschool hardcore to experimental metalcore, there is so much represented. Is this your concept, to make one out of many, or did it just happen that way? What messages are in the album? Band: Haha we were waiting for that question. We wanted it that way, raw and without any Schnick-Schnack as a German would say. Plus we think that some of today’s music lost it’s core. This is our first album and we wanted to go back to our roots and just be ourselfs and have fun with waht we do. Or maybe we just suck haha. Question 7 If one number stands out for me from the program, then probably the number "Wenn aus Freunden, Brüder werden". Not because I think it's the best, but because it surprised me in terms of the vocals. It is sung in a damn fluent and clear German language, how can that be explained? Band: Thank you for liking the song. Actually J. and DoC are fluent in German, both were living in Germany at one time and still have a lot of friends there! Thank you at this point to Jason from 14 Sacred Words for his work on this Song with us. Question 8 I would like to talk about the general conditions of the American scene again, it has just started to move again in the last few years, see bands like Wellington Arms, or Brithrite, for example, which belong to the younger representatives. Or old Bands that are becoming more active again, like Roy with his project Evil Inside or the good old Max Resist. How do you evaluate the developments of the recent past? Do you have contact to new bands and groups or rather to the old movement? How do you evaluate the current course and developments? Band: The Movement is going in the right direction, after a long period of silence a fresh breeze of new blood is rebuilding what we had over here. Not in the same way as it was back in the days, but we would like to think, we found a better and stronger way to build a movement that can prevail and make a difference in our country with new and old Bands, Brothers and Sisters.There is no doubt that we could do all that without the old once. We appreciate them for their advice and guidance at all times. Question 9 Finally we come to the well-known question, how does it go on with you, is there already something you can tell us? New songs, new album or something like that? Band: Oh Hell yeah you will hear from us. We are working on new material for the 2nd album. DoC is working right now with Peter from We Want War on the new Band called „Breach“. There will be a mini CD coming out this year. We also recording our Song for the „Tribute to Max Resist Album“ and we will see what else is happening, the year is still young and we are full of ideas. Question 10 I thank you for your time and for answering my question. I also wish you continued success with the band, the music and of course in your private life. Question 1 Greetings, before we turn to your still quite young career and first album, I would like to ask you for a short introduction so that the readership knows who this is all about. When was True Notes founded and why? What was your career like so far and what were the inspirations that led you to dedicate yourselves to core music? Band: Thanks for having us. This is our first interview so please bare with us. True Notes was founded in 2015 under the original name „Idle Hands“ by J. and DoC. We started the Band as a side project because we love music and as it turned out we worked pretty good together. We settled for HC music because we both like the style of music. Both of us have been around for a while and recorded the one or other album. Not together tho. J. Is known for The 96 Brigade, Force Fed Hate and many other projects over the years, while DoC did Activist, Last Man Standing and Operation Werwolf. Question 2 You are still at the beginning of your musical career, can you already draw a small conclusion to the already experienced years? After all, you come from a music scene that caused a sensation in the wild nineties but has unfortunately become quite quiet today. Is there still something going on musically in the States? Band: The 90’s were the 90’s and they were glorious without a doubt, but we are in 2022 now the American Scene is not dead as many were thinkging. Over the last 5 to 10 years new Bands as 14 Sacred Words or Birthrite and ohers are releasing new music and Bands like BFG,BED, Max Resist, Bully Boys or H8Machine are still around. We think this is a new era of the American Scene and you will hear more from new and old bands our of the states. Question 3 Do you see True Notes following in the footsteps of the great hardcore bands of the old days or are you going in a completely different direction? If you had to describe True Notes ideologically, what would you say? Band: We think True Notes has it’s own style even tho we feel influenced by many differnet kind of styles. We follow our passion, believes and turn that into music. The rage, the love and the dedication in our songs mirrors our mindset and our ideology. Question 4 One song from the first studio album is called "Welcome to Charlottes Hell", which consequently deals with the events of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Please tell the readers from your point of view what happened there, after all this was one of the most recent events of the American movements that caused a sensation worldwide...! Band: Charlottesville was an example of how frustrated and disrespected White(don’t know if can say that) people and their history is in the US. Many people are done with the government and the blame of being the scapegoat for rich politians and their financed henchman (Antifa). Question 5 You are signed to Tinnitus Records, if you can call it that. As is the case with you, Tinnitus Records is still a fairly young label in the American market. How did the collaboration come about and has it been going so far? I also wonder how the American market is doing, is a new label still worth it? Band / Label: Label: If you believe in something and you don’t do anything about it than you can’t make a change, but if you step up and take things in your own hands and you do all that because you believe in what you love and in a better future for your children and your kind, than it is worth more than anything in the world. Band: What he said is the point. We work together with Tinnitus Records cause it is great to work with somebody and have on your side that is so driven and focused on rebuilding our identity.
