Blessed Birthday Pastor Tou Chen! It's a huge privilege to be able to pen this note to represent our church family to celebrate you. What a gift you are to the church! God has used you in many ways to bless this church family and also the larger body of Christ, through your teaching of the Word and the testimony of your life. You have modelled for us courage, humility and passion especially when it comes to engaging cultural issues in the public square. You have inspired many of us and the impact you've made goes deeper and wider than you realise. But you are precious to this family today not just because of your gifts but because you are a friend to many of us and beloved brother in this family. I remember a few months back you preached the gospel on stage with such conviction. At the end of the session, I happened to see you tearing in your seat. I realise later that it was because you were so moved by God upon hearing how people responded to the gospel that day. I learnt that day how tender your heart is towards the Lord and compassionate you are towards the lost. My prayer for you is simply that God will use this tender heart and compassion He has planted to reach many more for Him and His glory! Blessed Birthday, Ps ZY! 🎉 It’s been such a joy to watch the Lord continue to grow you in wisdom and stature over the years. You have modelled so well what it looks like to wholeheartedly pursue God’s presence and Kingdom, and the fruit of that pursuit has blessed so many of us. Thank you for the way you love and serve the church with humility, generosity, and faithfulness. We are grateful not just for what you do, but for who you are. May this coming year bring fresh encounters with the Father, renewed strength, deeper joy, and an increasing measure of His favour upon you and your family. Blessed Birthday James! 🎉🌊🇯🇵 This year, you celebrate your birthday in Okinawa, the very place you believed God had chosen for your family in this season. And honestly bro… watching you say “yes” to God has been deeply moving and inspiring. When we think of you, we see a man willing to die to himself. Your gifts, your comforts, your plans, your ambitions… all that you have, you offer so freely unto the Lord. Even your weaknesses and uncertainties, you do not hide them but surrender them. There’s something deeply special. And we really want you to know this: We are so proud of you. Not because you have everything figured out. Not because missions or ministry sounds noble. But because you are willing to obey God even when it costs something. This birthday, our prayer for you is that you would continue to live with God given courage and childlike surrender…willing even to look foolish for the sake of Jesus. May your life become a living testimony in Okinawa. May people encounter the love, presence, and reality of Christ through your family. May a nation and a people come to know Jesus more because one family dared to say yes. You are deeply missed here in Singapore, bro. Truly. There are many of us who carry you in our hearts, praying for you, and speak of you with so much love and fondness. But at the same time… we are so full of joy watching God write this chapter of your story. Can’t wait for June, to enjoy your presence, laugh together again, and celebrate you properly!
