Amazon earnings: records, robots, and $315B in market cap wiped out in one evening 🛒 The highest operating margin in the company's history — and its steepest sell-off in a long time. 💲 Revenue: $201.9B vs. $202.2B expected. 💳 EPS, including gains from its investment in Anthropic: $1.89 vs. $1.97 expected. 📢 Advertising revenue: $19.6B vs. $20.87B expected. 🔥 Meanwhile, Amazon Web Services posted its fastest growth in nearly five years, with revenue reaching $46B (+39% YoY). The company expects AWS to grow at least 40% annually in both 2027 and 2028. 🚀 Operating income rose 61%, while operating margin reached a record 13.9%. Amazon plans to automate the last 100 yards of delivery to customers. Allstate will report third-quarter results on November 4 after the market closes. 2️⃣ EOG Resources (EOG). An energy company that explores for and produces oil and gas. EOG is expanding its international presence through projects in the UAE and Bahrain while keeping production costs low. In its latest report, the company posted record production volumes. Revenue grew 57% year over year. It has paid dividends for 27 consecutive years; over the past five years, payouts have grown by around 20% annually. Its next earnings report is due November 5 after the market closes. 3️⃣ Chevron (CVX). The oil giant is increasing production, expanding refining, and cutting costs. In the second quarter of 2026, the company set records for oil production and refining volumes. Annual savings from cost cuts reached $3B. Chevron expects adjusted free cash flow to grow by around 10% a year through 2035, with Brent crude at around $70 per barrel. Earnings per share are expected to rise by 140% for the full year 2026. PayPal wanted more. Nearly all recent earnings reports have produced a strong gap in the stock. In 2021, PYPL was worth above $300, while over the past six months the stock has traded in the $40–$60 range. We expect elevated volatility after the report. 🔴 Roblox (RBLX). Excluding this charge, EPS would have been $7.40. 💲 Free cash flow turned negative for the first time since 2012, coming in at -$2.12B. One in four people worldwide uses Meta's apps every day. Time spent on Instagram and Reels views are at all-time highs, while nearly 10 million advertisers use Meta's generative AI to create ads. But the real record-holders have been trading on the NYSE longer than stock tickers, the telephone, and electric lighting have existed. The longest-running listing The New York Gas Light Company was founded in 1823 to replace the whale-oil lamps on Broadway with gas lighting. Just a year later, the company's shares were listed on the NYSE, where they have traded continuously ever since — for more than 200 years, an absolute exchange record. For context, in 1824, the US had 24 states, and only a few dozen securities were traded on the exchange, mostly bank stocks, insurance stocks, and government bonds. Sixty years later, six New York gas companies merged to form Consolidated Gas. Meanwhile, a competitor was gaining ground in the city — the Edison Electric Illuminating Company. The gas companies didn't beat electricity; they simply bought it. In 1936, the merged company was renamed Consolidated Edison (ED). Today, Con Ed supplies energy to around 10 million people in New York City and Westchester County, heats Manhattan skyscrapers with steam, and holds the title of the dividend king, having increased its dividends for more than 50 consecutive years. The first stock listed on the exchange The Bank of New York was founded back in 1784, eight years before the NYSE was established. When brokers signed the Buttonwood Agreement in 1792, shares of the Bank of New York became the first non-government securities traded on the exchange. Intuitive Surgical also lowered its forecast for growth in the number of procedures performed with its equipment. ↘️ Alpha Teknova (TKNO) -30%. The company produces critical laboratory reagents, buffer solutions, and other components needed for the development and manufacturing of vaccines, drugs, and molecular diagnostics. Shares are currently in the red. Competition is weighing on the stock — SpaceX recently bought low-band spectrum licenses. ↗️ Amkor Technology (AMKR) +9%. A provider of semiconductor packaging and testing services. Under an expanded agreement, Nvidia and Amkor intend to increase advanced packaging capacity in South Korea. By the end of 2028, the companies plan to increase interposer panel production by more than 300%. This initiative, along with Amkor's ongoing construction of new manufacturing capacity in South Korea, will boost output for current and future generations of Nvidia AI platforms. ↘️ Philip Morris (PM) -3%. EPS and revenue beat consensus, and quarterly dividends will rise 8.8% to $1.60 per share. The company noted that operating profit growth will likely come in at the middle or lower half of its previously stated 7–9% range. The reasons are geopolitics and increased investment in developing its U.S. business. Rising energy prices created additional cost pressure in the current quarter, and that impact is expected to intensify slightly next quarter. ↗️ Zoom Communications (ZM) +4%. Oppenheimer analysts upgraded Zoom to Outperform from Underperform with a $130 price target. After attending the Zoomtopia conference, analysts were impressed by the company's new AI services. Zoom is transitioning from video conferencing to a broader AI-based communications and workflow platform. ↘️ Abbott Laboratories (ABT) -4%. The healthcare company reported revenue slightly above expectations, with EPS in line with consensus. Abbott announced plans to spin off its infant and medical nutrition division into a separate public company by the end of 2027, with annual sales of about $8.5B.

Capital expenditures totaled $19.6B, including $16.4B spent on the superintelligence (SI) business. Elon Musk believes SpaceX's annual recurring revenue will reach $500B to $1T by the end of 2027. SpaceX could potentially overtake Amazon in sales within a year.
