CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis Tweets: Energising Growth: Transforming Maharashtra’s Power Landscape Presided over the MoU signing between Government of Maharashtra (Water Resources Dept) and Novarion Energy for the development of the 'Ranavadi off-stream close-loop Pumped Storage Project' in Pune and Raigad districts. This is the 56th MoU in the Pumped Storage sector. The project will generate 1200 MW of power, with an estimated investment of around ₹5760 crore and the potential to create approximately 1500 jobs. Significant efforts are underway to substantially enhance the state’s power generation capacity, with a strong focus on creating nearly 1 lakh MW of energy through Pumped Storage Projects. With this push, Maharashtra is poised to emerge as the state with the highest energy generation capacity through Pumped Storage Projects (PSP), strengthening long-term energy security and sustainability. Through multiple MoUs, the state is set to add a total power generation capacity of 78,218 MW, attracting investments of approximately ₹4,22,461 crore and generating around 1,27,000 employment opportunities. With a strong emphasis on renewable energy projects, Maharashtra is steadily progressing towards energy self-reliance, driving industrial growth while promoting environmentally sustainable and future-ready power generation. CMO Maharashtra Tweets: On the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar, ‘Godavari to Narmada Water Journey’ Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a meeting was held today at Mantralaya, Mumbai, regarding the Godavari to Narmada Water Journey on the occasion of the birth tercentenary year of Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar, as part of the Water Management Action Committee-2026. To bring the work, thoughts, and legacy of Ahilyadevi Holkar to the citizens on the occasion of her 300th birth anniversary, this water journey is being organized from 25 to 29 April 2026. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Ahilyadevi Holkar’s birthplace is Chaundi in Maharashtra, and her influential cultural legacy is connected to Maharashtra. Good governance, women’s leadership, public welfare, water vision, and heritage conservation in Ahilyadevi’s work are of great national importance. While commemorating this through the state government, this initiative will be carried out on the occasion of this water journey. On 25 April 2026, the journey will commence from Chaundi and Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district, the confluence of the journeys will take place at Shirdi, and thereafter, via Grishneshwar in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and the route through Dhule, the culmination will be held in Indore on 29 April. During this water journey, various programs and initiatives will be organized in the villages and cities along the route. The Glory of Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar’s Water Vision Building a network of minor canals, water storage and conservation, agricultural development, promotion of local employment and cottage industries—these are inspirational in Ahilyadevi’s work on water conservation.
