SBAB hosted a reinvigorating Walk-A-Jog to Sembawang Hot Spring Park for our Sixers. Designed to promote physical wellness and offer a welcome break from daily work routines, the outing allowed participants to refresh themselves, soak in the picturesque scenery, and build camaraderie across the base!
👀 ADOC – Ex RIMPAC 2026
Participating in the exercise after a six-year hiatus, two of our USAF-trained Joint Interface Control Officers (JICO) AOSX, ME3 Bernard Ng and ME3 Nick Png, took on the role of the JICO Watch Officer in the exercise’s Combined Air Ops Centre. This high-level role, typically only assigned to experienced Link 16 nations, requires the personnel to possess strong Ops and datalink competency to manage and lead a team of multinational datalink operators. Well done Bernard and Nick, thank you for flying our flag high in Hawaii!
🏠 PC – 201 SQN Family Day @ SAFM
At the newly renovated Air Force Museum, our Roadrunners welcomed their loved ones for a meaningful morning of bonding and appreciation. Through a series of sharings by our Roadrunners, our Roadrunners’ families got a glimpse into 201 SQN and what XWB is about. Thank you to our Roadrunners’ family for always standing behind our Roadrunners - your support and encouragement are an important part of 201 SQN’s success!
📚 PC – 6 DA Bn NE Tour @ Bukit Chandu Museum
Last week, 6 DA Bn visited the Reflections at Bukit Chandu museum for a meaningful learning journey, gaining a deeper appreciation of Singapore’s wartime history and the sacrifices made to defend our nation. Through the exhibits and stories shared, our personnel reflected on the courage, resilience, and sense of duty displayed by those who came before us. The visit was a meaningful reminder of the importance of remembering our history and appreciating the peace and security we have today.

| 9 |  🎖️ MINDEF/SAF to introduce a series of commemorative events and initiatives in 2027 as part of NS60
As Singapore marks 60 years of National Service in 2027, MINDEF and the SAF will introduce a series of NS60 commemorative events and initiatives to recognise our NSFs, NSmen, NS alumni and their families, and to reaffirm our commitment to support our national servicemen throughout their NS journey. 💪
Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing shared that he has asked the MINDEF team to review how NS recognition can be made more impactful and meaningful for NSmen as they navigate life's challenges while serving the nation.
A few things to know:
🛡️ NS remains the bedrock of our nation's defence. A special NDP will be held at the Padang in 2027 to mark this milestone, alongside a series of NS60 commemorative events, including an NS Exhibition, Army Open House, and potentially the opening of NS Square.
📈 As part of the regular review, NSF allowances have risen 65% since 2015. Today, an Infantry NSF Corporal who has completed vocation training earns $1,090 a month in his second year.
🎉 MINDEF and the SAF will also explore enhancements to recognition initiatives, such as the NS HOME Awards, and is looking at a suitable NS60 Recognition package for NSmen past and present. More details will be announced in 2027.

MY FELLOW AIRMEN AND WOMEN,
Happy 58th RSAF Day!
This year’s RSAF58 activities have once again demonstrated the generosity and unity of our Air Force family. Together, we raised $391,354.84 for charity, donated 330 units of blood, and covered 871,000 km in the Virtual Mileage Challenge. Many of you also encouraged your families and friends to join us. Thank you for giving back to the community and for representing our values. I look forward to celebrating RSAF58 with you at the Singapore Oceanarium.
As we mark this occasion, I want to thank every one of you for being the RSAF’s source of strength. In all that you do, you have embodied Mission Success, Safety Always and People at Heart. During my unit visits, I have seen first-hand your commitment, professionalism, and dedication to the mission, and I am heartened by what I have witnessed. You have continued to uphold high standards and given your best in the defence of Singapore.
Over the past year, we have remained vigilant around the clock to safeguard Singapore’s skies, save lives, and serve Singaporeans. We responded to potential air threats, conducted life-saving helicopter medical evacuations, brought Singaporeans home from the Middle East, and contributed to many security operations, including for NDP 2026. At the same time, we sharpened our operational edge through exercises such as Exercise Cope Tiger, SAREX MALSING, Exercise PITCH BLACK and Exercise PRAIRIE FIRE. These achievements were made possible by your professionalism, commitment and teamwork. Each of you has kept our RSAF ready, made our skies safe, and flew our flag high.
The security environment continues to be increasingly complex, and technology is advancing rapidly. We cannot and have not stood still. As we prepare to operationalise the expanded Changi Air Base (East), bring our F-35 and H900 into service, and upgrade our capabilities, we must transform not only our platforms and systems, but also the way we learn, work, and fight as one RSAF.
To stay ready for tomorrow’s operational demands, we must also equip all our people with the skills and confidence to contribute, while ensuring they feel supported and cared for throughout their careers. RAiD’s AI masterclasses are helping us build a more digitally capable Air Force. I commend those who have stepped forward to learn and apply these skills. The spirit of innovation was on full display when ORBIT – an NSF-led digital app that improved casualty handover during helicopter evacuation missions – received the Minister for Defence Award at this year’s IGNITE Symposium, showing what is possible when our people understand operational needs and act on their ideas. Our people remain at the heart of the RSAF. We are committed to developing and caring for our people who enable our success. We have transformed AMPO to enhance HR service delivery. Through RSAF WINGS, we are strengthening how we equip, support, and empower our servicewomen at every stage of their careers.
We also strengthened our relationships with Singaporeans and our international partners. At Singapore Airshow 2026, we deepened defence ties and engaged industry partners. By working with Defence Collective Singapore to refresh the Air Force Museum, collaborating with SAFRA, and reaching out to schools through our BEACON Brights, we have brought the RSAF’s story closer than ever to the public. I encourage more of you to contribute through BEACON Brights and to be RSAF ambassadors to our fellow Singaporeans.
As we celebrate RSAF58, let us take pride in what we have achieved together and recommit ourselves to what lies ahead. Standing together with our NSmen, Volunteer Corps, and family members, let us stay operationally ready, uphold safety in all that we do, care for one another, and continue pushing the boundaries of air power.
Together, we will build a Ready, Relevant, Resilient and Respected Air Force.

🚤 PC – 123 SQN Maritime NE Tour @ Sisters’ Islands Marine Park
Like Odysseus, 123 SQN set off on a voyage journeying through Singapore’s bustling port facilities and offshore islands to learn about the vital role the global shipping industry plays in Singapore’s economy. The journey concluded at Sisters’ Islands Marine Park, where our personnel explored Singapore’s rich marine biodiversity and learnt about ongoing efforts to conserve and protect our marine environment.
🤔 APGC – 815 SQN x 505 SQN FOT
Do you really know your neighbours? With the aim of learning more about each other’s roles and contributions in supporting TAB operations, 815 SQN hosted 505 SQN and took them on a series of hands-on activities. Personnel from 505 SQN participated in a HoloLens mixed reality experience, entered the exhaust of an F-16 aircraft and even tried their hand at performing Aircraft Battle Damage Repair!
🤓 PC – Junior WOSpecs & MEs Learning Day @ Kranji War Memorial & Former Ford Factory
PC’s latest learning journey for Junior WOSpecs and MEs brought them to Kranji War Memorial and the Former Ford Factory. Our junior leaders reflected on Singapore’s wartime history and the sacrifices of those before us, while developing their leadership and facilitation skills in this participant-led experience. The day concluded with a lunch engagement with CC PC, strengthening connections and camaraderie.

| 13 |  🌟 CAF Visit to 125 SQN
🤩 Last week, CAF visited 125 SQN to engage our airmen and women from H225M IMF and 125 SQN, and expressed his confidence in them being ready round the clock whenever they are called upon. As part of the visit, CAF also flew onboard the H225M to better understand their operations.

🫱🏼🫲🏾 APGC – 708 SQN x AMOC Inter-Unit Exercise
Ground Logistics, Medical, Cross! Through a simulated high-intensity mass-casualty scenario, the inter-unit exercise brought together Regulars, NSFs, NSmen, and SAFVC across the Ground Logistics and Medical functions to sharpen our personnel’s operational competencies under demanding conditions.
🌏 PC – Oakey Det Racial Harmony Day
On Racial Harmony Day, our Oakey Det personnel gathered with our defence partners from Boeing Defence Australia and Pacific Flight Services to share the importance of racial harmony in Singapore’s multicultural society and how it was built over generations. The celebration ended with a lunch featuring both Singaporean and Australian cuisine, bringing everyone together through food, friendship, and cultural exchange!
👮 APGC – International Security Officers Day @ PLAB
To thank our Security Integrated Work Force for their commitment and to celebrate our strong partnership, Comd PLAB, CC PLAB, and CO 607 SQN presented a token of appreciation from the Base to the auxiliary police officers and security officers. Thank you for keeping our RSAF installations safe and secure, 24/7!
📒 APGC – HQ SBAB & BCP NE Tour @ Peranakan Museum
Our personnel from HQ SBAB and BCP experienced a day in the life of a Little Nyonya during their visit to the Peranakan Museum, where they explored Singapore’s Peranakan heritage through its engaging displays.
🏊♂️ PC – 123 SQN @ RSN Swim For Hope Challenge 2026
Wat-er great way to make waves for a worthy cause! 123 SQN dove into the RSN's annual Swim For Hope Challenge 2026, clocking 237 laps alongside fellow participants in support of at-risk youths and people with special needs.

This SAFM’s Air Force Day, we’re looking for volunteers to step into the paws of CPT Ted at the Air Force Museum on 5 & 6 Sep 2026! For 30 minutes, you’ll get to be the crowd favourite! Waving, posing for photos, meeting families and bringing smiles to everyone around you. 📸✨
It’s volunteering, but you’ll get to be part of the experience too. So if you’re up for something fun, memorable and definitely different from the usual, this could be YOU! Scan the QR code and sign up for your CPT Ted slot.
