Stability AI has launched StableCode – a neural network for coding.
The company Stability AI, the developer of the StableDiffusion neural network for image generation, has released StableCode – the AI generates code in different languages.
The neural network is designed to assist programmers and acts as a training tool to boost their skills.
The model is available in three variations: basic level, instructions, and a long contextual window supporting up to 16,000 tokens.
StableCode was trained using data from the open-source project BigCode. The neural network supports development in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, C, C++, and markdown (markup language). In addition to this, the model can work with large amounts of code located in multiple files.
The beta is already available on Hugging Face for everyone:

At the moment, the 50th annual conference on computer graphics and the use of interactive technologies - SIGGRAPH, is taking place in Los Angeles.
In one of the SIGGRAPH reports, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced a new feature Picasso for creating photorealistic environment maps of 360 HDRi for illuminating 3D scenes using simple text or graphic prompts.
In the demonstration, NVIDIA researchers are experimenting with a living room scene, as an interior designer could do with AI in any 3D rendering application. In this case, the researchers are using the NVIDIA Omniverse USD Composer - a benchmark application for assembling and composing scenes using a universal scene description known as OpenUSD - to add a wall with a brick texture, create and modify fabric choices for a sofa and decorative pillows, as well as to include an abstract animal pattern.

Why is there such detailed character design in the new game Baldur's Gate 3?
The game Baldur's Gate 3 was recently released! Why is it a phenomenon?
We invite you to join us in watching an excerpt from a panel discussion featuring a presentation by the game's character artist. Notice how much effort the developers have put into character customization (it can even seem a tad excessive in places).
But why?
Did the developers go above and beyond out of love for the project? Not at all. The detail and realism of the characters in Baldur's Gate 3 is a response to the demands of today's audience.
If we're not satisfied with certain flaws of ours in real life, we want to act online as characters who lack them. And ideally, we hope to draw inspiration from flawless personalities as well. And if such don't exist, why not use the character builder?

💷 Neural networks have reached coins.
There's a service named Coinsnap that uses neural networks to determine the value of a coin. All you need to do is upload a photo (or take one directly through the app) – and within a few seconds, a detailed description appears: title, origin, minting year, value, and more.
An extensive database of coins from various countries in several languages has been uploaded - but unfortunately, among them, there is no Russian. It works for free, but with constraints. Full functionality - in the premium version from $5 a month (there's a one-week trial).

💤 In China, they have created the perfect device for those who can't get enough sleep - a LED sleep mask.
