YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE O PARENTS AND TEACHERS ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ “O you who believe! Save yourselves and your families from the Hellfire.” [Sūrah al-Taḥrīm 66:6] Mothers, fathers, teachers, and the society as a whole, will all be accountable in front of Allāh about the tarbiyyah (education and upbringing) of this generation. If its tarbiyah is good, then there will be happiness - both in this world and the Hereafter. If it is not, then there will be misery, and it will be a rope around your necks - since there occurs in the ḥadīth: “Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you will be questioned about those who you are responsible for.” [1] But - O teachers - rejoice in the saying of the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), who said: “By Allāh! That Allāh guides through you even a single person, is better for you than the most precious of camels.” [2] And - O parents - rejoice in the authentic ḥadīth: “When a person dies, his actions are terminated except for three; a recurring charity, or knowledge that he leaves which is benefited from, or a pious offspring who supplicates for him.” [3] So you must first of all reform yourselves, since good results from the good that you do, and bad results from the bad that you do. Answer: Yes, as for the Hadith, there is no problem with it. Backbiting and tale-carrying decreases the fast, and harms the fast, and it could transfer the fast of the backbiter and give it to those he has backbitten, such that they take it from him on the Day of Judgment from the standpoint of retribution for the grievances. It is upon the Muslim to fast with his ears, eyes, and tongue from everything that Allah the Exalted has prohibited. Fasting is not leaving off food and drink only, rather along with that it is to leave off backbiting, tale-carrying, listening to impermissible things, and looking at impermissible things. It is to fast with the limbs just as you fast with the stomach. And it is to fast with the private parts from intercourse while he is fasting. Ruling on Watching TV Q: What is the ruling on watching TV? A: Watching TV is very dangerous, and I advise you not to watch it and not to sit in front of it as far as possible. However, if a viewer has the moral strength to benefit from what is good, and it will not attract them to evil, then there is nothing to prevent them from that, if they know that they have that moral strength. If they can listen to something good and benefit from it, and keep away from offensive things, such as songs, objectionable dramas, and other harmful things, then there is nothing wrong with this. But usually one thing leads to another, which is why I advise people not to bring a TV into their homes and not to watch it, because one thing leads to another, and people are inclined to watch strange things, if they are within reach. It is not like listening; listening is less dangerous, but watching and listening are more attractive and people become more attached to this. Still worse than this are the videos, if they contain the lewd films that are circulated among people - we seek refuge with Allah from them. These depraved videos are more evil; we must be on our guard against them and use our intelligence. If we find any film of that nature, it must be destroyed or something recorded over it to remove the depravity. If it is possible, something useful should be recorded over it, to remove the obscenity and so some benefit may be gained from the tape on which something good has been recorded. The worst of all are the satellite dishes. It is obligatory for us to beware of them and avoid installing them in our homes. May Allah keep the Muslims safe from all evil! Some people seek knowledge by this means, so a person will read books or listen to audio lectures and then say: "I took knowledge from so-and-so from his book and his audios." This [by itself without sitting] is a huge mistake. Knowledge is taken from the scholars and these books are an aid, an assistance and a means that are taken alongside sitting with the scholars. So the scholar is asked about these books and he explains them, and he clarifies them, clarifying the truth from the errors in them. 🌷A MUSLIM WOMAN INTENDS TO PERFORM AN OPTIONAL FAST, BUT SHE IS GENUINELY PREVENTED FROM DOING SO; WHAT IS HER REWARD (In Shaa-Allaah)? ▪️Question: The questioner asks: if a woman makes an intention to fast the ninth and tenth of Muharram, but then her monthly menstrual circle prevents her from that, will she be rewarded for her intention? ▫️Answer: If a person is determined to perform an act of worship but then he (or she) is (genuinely) prevented from doing so by something that prevents him (or her) from performing the act, the reward for that deed is written for him (or her) even if the act was not performed. That is because Abu Moosaa Al-Ash’ari (radiyallaahu-anhu) said that the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: If a slave of (Allah) becomes sick or travels, he (or she) is rewarded for the good deeds he (or she) used to perform when he (or she) was healthy or at home. In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy. Question to Shaikh Rabee: Shaikh Albaanee, Shaikh Ibn Baaz and Shaikh Uthaymeen have passed away, so who remains from the scholars? Answer: Those who remain are numerous and all praise is due to Allaah.  The Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] died and his noble companions [radiyallaahu-anhum] remained. Ahmad Ibn Hanbal [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. Ibn Abdul Wahhaab [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. And those ones [i.e. Albaanee, Ibn Baaz, Uthaymeen (rahimahumullaah)] died and their students and brothers remain by Allaah’s Will.  The truth will not be lost. When Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu] was stabbed, it was said to him, “Appoint a successor!” He said, “Allaah will not allow His Religion to be lost”.  So by Allaah this Religion will never be lost. It is upon you to put shoulder to shoulder and embark upon work-raise the flag of the [authentic] Sunnah and the flag of the truth.  [The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] said, “There will not cease to be a group amongst my Ummah manifest upon the truth-neither will they be harmed by those who betray them nor by those who oppose them till Allaah’s promise come to pass (i.e. the day of Judgement)”. WHEN A SERVANT COMMITS A SIN The Prophet ﷺ said: إن العبد إذا أخطأ خطيئة نكتت في قلبه نكتة سوداء فإذا هونزع وتستغفر وتاب سقل قلبه وإن عاد زيد فيها حتى تعلو قلبه وهو الران الذي ذكر الله: كلا بل ران على قلوبهم ما كانوا يكسبون “When a servant commits a sin, a black dot is placed upon his heart. If he withdraws from it, seeks forgiveness, and repents, then his heart is cleansed. But if he returns to it then it is increased until it consumes his heart.* This is the Rān (stain of covering) that Allāh has mentioned:‎ {كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ (١٤)} “Nay!
